whatever you do with your own life is your business...but there are reasons behind seatbelts, and i'm glad many states, including my own (TN), run "click it or ticket" programs...the belts save lives, i don't really understand why people think it is such a hassle to wear them, i put it on when i get in my car by habit automatically, and i think nothing of it, sometimes i don't even remember that i have my belt on and try to get out of the car...they are there for a reason, but sorry, i digressed from your question, and i don't have an answer, so i will leave now

but if you want, go to a junkyard or someplace and get an old seatbelt from there, and get the seatbelt clip, where it plugs into the seatbelt socket, and just leave it there all the time...voila!...no more light, and easily removable if you decide to begin wearing the belt

Just wear the belt, it might save you some day. Is it worth the price of a ticket or a funeral?

ok, i'm not flaming you in any way, or in any way trying to offend you, so please do not look at my response as so:

the light is not an indication that "you're stupid"...that light is there as a reminder that you don't have a belt on, a device that may save your life...by having the light there, auto makers are hoping that the occupant will wear his/her belt, instead of otherwise ignoring it or forgetting it...and once you put your belt on, there ya go...light gone!...easily solution, once you hop into the car, put belt on immediately without looking at dash...no light

about 50% of the accidents around here, people have died because they were trapped in their cars cuz of seatbelts....my friend, about a year ago, rolled over into a lake.....he floated to the top, and someone grabbed him out..if he had his seatbelt on...dead

ok, then think of it this way...when a car begins to roll...the person is ejected from the car through the windshield...dead!...a person who is not wearing their seatbelt is more likely to hit the windshield or the roof or something to knock them unconscious, thus if they're unconscious, they can't really do much of anything...the myth that you might get trapped by your seatbelt and the such is bull**** in my opinion, because far more fatalities are prevented by the use of a seatbelt, then the rare cases where a seatbelt might impose harm...but like i said earlier, think about if you begin to roll and you are knocked unconscious by hitting something since you weren't restrained by the belt, would you have the capability to try and save your *** afterwards?

friends? of course...i said in one of my posts earlier that i in no way intended for it to be a flame directed towards you...i was just trying to illustrate the point of having a seatbelt in a car...but it's your life, you decide for yourself, you don't have to listen to a 16 year old over the internet (me)

dude, just relax! everyone to his own. i am not scared of death (after all its the only guaranteed thing that life offers ), but i love my life too. wearing the seat belt as soon as i get in has become second nature to me. in fact when i was visiting my parents in India (where seatbelts are not compulsory), i went ahead and wore the seatbelt there too. it just happens this way --> get in car, sit, pull the belt across you...as if its programmed in my brain.

jamsan - wear that belt else one day you might be seeing too many other annoying lights while you are lying in the hospital.

you desi man? my grandparents are in India...and the way my posts came across may have been different than I had intended (the beauty of the internet)..but I was just trying to prove my point and the such, I had already stated that it was his life, he's obviously a big boy (older than me I assume) and can make his own decisions...but I'm the same way as you, as soon as I step in any car, the belt goes on

I always wear my seatbelt and I think that it is the safest thing to do with all things considered but if you really don't want to wear it and hate the light then just remove the bulb.
