Hey Guys:

I recently brought a Maxima GLE, 65,000 miles for around 13,000 plus tax. It needs a tune up and new tires. Do you think I paid too much? Be Honest, I'll take it like a man.

I already checked Blue Kelly but i just wanted your opinion?

IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT THEN DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. I GOT A 87 GLE FULLY LOADED FOR ABOUT $17,500. AS LONG AS YOU ARE HAPPY DON'T WORRY.

ditto

I paid exactly the same for my GLE with 63k miles. Crappy tires too. (has anyone heard of millenium mohawks?) The dealer I bought from sells a 3,4 yr old cars, most of which appear to be lease returns. I ran a lemon check which confirmed the lease history. They had it listed for 15.9k and claimed they couldn't go lower than 13k as they put in a new sunroof assy. Anyway, I am happy with it.

depends on area

If you want to know the blue book value of your car go to http://www.kbb.com , althought the blue book is not as accurate as the n.a.d.a. . The nada book is what banks/insurance companies use when pricing your car, you can pick one up at your local book store or go to http://www.nada.com and there is a link to check up to 5 prices a day. I bought a 96 SE w/every option and even had tints with 49k for $14,500 back in july and some people said i got ripped off. Well 5 months later and 8k later the car was totalled and insurance gave me $15,200 for it, so .... when i asked how they obtained my value they said they find cars in the area like it and then price it like that so location is also a factor.

Too Much...

I just bought a 96 GLE with 80,000 miles for $10,000. I did have to get tires. So I went ahead and got 16" Rims off of a 2000 Maxima SE (standad rims) then put on a spoiler, wind deflector, clear bumper lights and more.....I sell new Maximas and probably just worked the guy more....He did get more than trade in though....

Go to http://www.autotrader.com or http://www.autobytel.com and search for your car, see what they're selling for in your area. That gives you a better sense of the "market price" than the book values. I thought I had paid a lot for mine, but after seeing that there were lesser cars selling for thousands more, I changed my mind. And if you need more convincing, take it out for a drive to be reminded that it was money well spent.
