MAF and TPS voltage specs - How to Check?
MAF and TPS voltage specs - How to Check?
Here's a question. I'm having driveability problems with my 1990 Maxima SE Automatic.
I was wondering whether someone knew the proper way to test the MAF and TPS. I also have a 1993 SE-R and the techniques and parameters there don't even seem close.
The TPS is weird. It will go from 11.94v at idle to 0v near mid opening, then start going back up as I approach WOT.
The MAF readings I get at idle are approximately 1.1 to 1.2 volts. Is that correct with a VG30E automatic?
Thanks.

To check a TPS, you have to look at the waveform on an oscilloscope, so I doubt you will be able to check that. If you are getting those strange voltage readings on the TPS, you are on the wrong wires.
As far as the MAF, those readings sound about right.

just kidding, I'm not sure about the readings, those may be fine
but if you do determine that you need one, let me know; I have a used, but working, one for sale
