Battery connecters?
Battery connecters?
I have noticed in some of your engine pics that you have battery connecters thats different than what i have on my max. I was wondering if you know where i could buy them?
Mine are all corroded and have the white battery acid film on them, plus the rubber has been worn away to where the wire is exposed. i have tried the search and went through 18 pages and didnt find what i was looking for. I also did some research on what kinda brake pads to buy and i noticed that alot of you liked Axxis Metalmasters pads. I dont remember when those post where written, but does anyone have any thing to say about them now like how they have held up and where i can buy them for a good price.
thanx for your help.

any car audio shop will have good battery connectors. be prepared though- cheap ones start about $20. the ones I have were almost $50 each. (ouch!)
If your battery is leaking acid on them, then you need to replace the battery before you dump tons of money on connectors too- otherwise the acid will eat off the nice looking platings on them and you'll have a big ugly mess that cost you $100 to get.
Axxis MM pads are pretty much the best bang for your buck pad out there. www.eatricezone.com
Pretty easy on rotors, perform very well, and last a long time. the only drawback to them is that they're a bit noisy. Mine used to squeak prety bad on the fronts until I switched to a big brake kit.

brake pads are easy to change if you're willing to work on them. less than a 1 hour job for a "beginner"
I can change a set in about 15 minutes.
if you're mechanically inclined, you should be able to do it without any instructions.
if you need directions on how to change your oil or change a tire, then you need to have someone else do it for you.
and yes, the $47 is for a complete front set. left and right. 4 pads total.
Most pads will make a slight grinding sound when you first install them on a fresh rotor (one that's just been turned or a brand new one). they'll make that noise until they wear the surface mirror smooth.. after that, the pads SHOULD be silent, but squeaking is a drawback to high temp pads. they'll get a small amount of metal off the rotors embedded in them and it's the metal on metal when the wheels turn that cause the squeaks.. nothing you can do about it really. there are many sprays and backing pads that are supposed to stop the squeal, but I've never found any that actually work.

About the Battery connector, I got mine from Tweeter for about $30. It didnt come with those gold connectors though. I got those at an electronics store for about $3 each. I replaced my battery right before I installed this and I havent had any corrosion since. Also, the starter cable and the accessory cables are kinda short, so you want to cut them as close to the stock connectors. Here is a pic.

it comes with a plastic cover, but it fell off a few months ago.
