Power steering pump blew...fix it?

I just bought a '93 Maxima and the power steering pump blew out the other day. There is fluid everywhere (aroud the pump, on top of the reservoir) and all of my belts are in tact. should I even attempt to change this thing my self? I can drive it to a shop, but I'd like to try to do it myself, because I don't need it as a daily driver.
Thanks in advance for your help....

often it's the hose that blows up.. the pump is also a DIY if you have the tools. you'll need some big wrenches to get the hoses off, but other than that it's not bad.

If it is the hose, don't go to the dealer because they want about $300 for it (no joke!). Go to pep boys or any other auto parts store and get it from them for about $30. I believe it was Matt who tipped me off to the dealer/aftermarket price difference on this part about a year or so ago. Hard to believe there cold be that much of a price difference, but it's true.

I believe the pump can be rebuilt if it did go bad.
