I would like to put some kind of intake into my 87 maxima. Not a cold air, just a pop style/cone air filter. Can i just put the filter in like on the 3rd and 4th generation maximas? I want it to be somewhat loud so it sounds nice? Any info on what i could buy, and price?

 

Yes, you can put on a POP style airfiler, you'll have to pull off the stock airbox assembly and mount the air filter directly on the Mass Airflow Sensor. i believe there is one floating around on ebay, i'm not guaranteeing it will actually fit cuz i've never seen it and the seller has 0 history...goodluck
