Anyone ever checked out Nissan's Japan website?

I was a little bored tonight so I thought I would check Nissan's Japan website out and just click around to see what I could find. I stubled across what I think is probably going to be the 2004 Maxima, and in fact looks very similar to the pictures that somebody posted a while back. Anyway it is called the Nissan Primera, and you ought to check it out. I can't say that I really care at all for it, looks like my 2k2 will be the last Max I own.
Check out the Japanese Nissan Primera=Nissan Maxima 2004???

the primera is definitely not the next maxima. the previous generation primera was sold in the states as the infiniti g20. this primera isnt supposed to come to the US.

Yeah the front end does look alot like the spy photos posted before. But the Primera doesn't look as big as how I think the 04 Max will be. It definitely reminds me of the Altima more.

I'm sorry, that's a butt ugly car. I'm seriously considering the G35 Coupe as my next ride. Seems like a new 3 series is still several years in the making. Just my $.02

I don't think we can count anything out, especially a statement like "definitely not the next maxima," it does like remarkably similiar to the spy photos that someone posted here a while back. I must say though, I do hope you are right, because that is one ugly car. The other funny thing is...if you look on that same website, and look for the line-up of there cars, there is not one single car on there that resembles the maxima.

that primera is already a 1-2 year old design. i am 100% sure that it is not the next maxima. you could also say that the primera shares design cues to the altima and G35. it's called brand identity. the 2004 maxima is to be built off the current altima platform which has no relation to the primera whatsoever. the 2004 is also rumored to have a v8. look at how short the hoodline of the primera is, not to mention that the largest engine they currently offer in it is a 2.5l 4 cyl. it will be near impossible to shoehorn a v8 in there. the primera is smaller than the altima. the primera is also FWD. definitely not the maxima.

btw, there is a car that resembles the maxima. it's the cefiro. it shares the body of our US i30/ i35. the maxima/ i30/ i35 are almost exactly alike minus minor sheetmetal/ cosmetic changes.

Well I know the V8 has been rumored, almost rumored to death, but I will believe it when I see it. The strongest rumor that I heard around (before I bought my 2k2) was that the Max's future was really in the air, especially with the new Altima (don't get me wrong, I like my max much, much better). I would just once like to read an article from a reputible source that mentioned anything about a V8 max. I am not saying that it is not going to happed, I just see it very unlikely, especially not have that option on the Infiniti G35.

the thing is, i doubt they can even fit the current 3.5 vq in there.

The Primera is what Infiniti ships to North America as the G20. That is too small a car to be the next Maxima ("Cefiro" over in Japan and Taiwan) especially since the next generation Maxima will probably be a full-sized car, making it bigger than the current generation.
