Chrome gauge rings keep sliding down

I end up opening up my instrument panel about once a month to realign them. I even tried gluing them in place. Has anyone tried something to keep them in place that works?

I have yet to figure out how the hell they are held into place. I know they go inside the circles, but what holds them? Just pressure?

The rings are made for 4th Gens which have larger openings. The only way to make them stick is to hope the glue holds or opens the holes a bit. Last June, I opted to englarge the openings because I did not feel the glue/tacky stuff would hold long term. I have had not difficulties. See http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/gau...erringinstall/

I followed matt's directions, perfect!!! I opted to trim out and use dabs of super glue on my 2000 and they are perfect. I will be at the meet on sunday if you would like to see!!!
