do the step lights on a 2k2 just pop out?

I know this may seem like a simple question, but I have done a search with no how-to info coming up. I know the bulb sizes, I just wasn't sure if I must take the door panel off, or if there is an easy way to pop it out!

Your help is appreciated, maybe even saving me from busting out the plastic!

Just use a flat headed screw driver as a wedge and pop the plastic cover off.

I was kind of scared when I did this a couple of weeks ago (popping off the lens with a butter knife). I thought that I was gonna break my lens, or pop the whole housing out, but it actually works.

I figured that's all it was. I was just worried that I might be wrong, and end up f***ing it up!

Is it better to pry from the side, top, or does it even matter?

It doesn't really matter.

Once you get it off BE CAREFUL! Those bulbs will be hot as hell, even if the door is only been open for a second. Trust me, I learned the hard way. My fingertips were numb for an entire day. Take the cover off and then get in and shut the door and let them cool for a few minutes and take them out with the door shut.

The lense latches from the top and bottom. So pry it from either the top or bottom. I would not pry from the side. Be sure when you stick the butterknife/screwdriver in to pry that you don't go too far. If you do it won't hurt anything but it will pop the entire socket out, and your still stuck with the lense on. It is much easier to take the lense off while the socket is still in the door.

Pop the assembly out, undo the connector and let it cool for 2 minutes, then pop open the little plastic cover and wallah..there is your bulb.

So... How many Maxima.org members does it take to change a lightbulb?

Three:

One to tell you how to do it
One to tell you how the CS-S sucks
and finally one to somehow tell you how its related to his Y-pipe, Intake, or wheels
