hey..I got a few question. in pervious posts I read that the rear deck is a support for the cars structure? is it a bad idea for me to make a new one, because when I put my 6x9s in, there will be NO room for air to escape into the cabin area. right now the air can get out viat he 6x9 holes. i dont want all that air pressure stuck in the trunk.

also, i was curious, how hard is it to remove the bose grilles and slap on my infinity 6x9 grilles?

I took out that big plasic thing between the back of the seats and the trunk. You can then remove the small cardboard thing behind the armrest and reach through to the trunk. Just watch out for the metal bracket behind... its sharp! As for the grilles, I really don't know. I just left the old Bose in and hope that maybe it will deter theft? Actually I just didn't feel like messing with it...

do I need to do any cutting to remove that center pice?

I am going to try to take out the grilles since my window tint doesn't allow people to see in anyhow

there's a rear deck and a rear deck cover...
once you remove the cover, you'll see the screws for the OEM grilles on the back of it.. remove those and the grilles will pop off and you can install your infinity ones.

the metal rear deck itself is the structural part of the car.. you don't want to go cutting on it unless you make braces for it to make it as strong or stronger than it was before you started cutting.

I think the big piece is held in by a few little clips, which can easily be removed from the trunk. The center piece behind the arm rest is held in by a few screws.

The time has come, I am installing my new 6x9s, and I'd like to make a new deck out of a new material that I can possibly put holes in so the bass can travel from the trunk to the cabin easier. Before I installed the 6x9s, I had two ports where the speakers should be. You also mentioned braces, what types of braces would I need to build?
