Well I got the picture in here finaly......
This is my 1993 J30 Nissan Maxima Ti (VG30E)Australian Model. Top of the range model. Has all power options.
I have no modifications as yet! The car is still original. Has only 143,000kms on the odometer. I got it back in June this year for $17,990 Australian dollars. It was a owned by the dealership service manager from new, so it has been well looked after and serviced on time every time. (Thank God).
Anyway let me know what you all think and as Im only new here....can someone please tell me a little about the Maxima's history or where i can find some information about maufacturing of the car and brochure pictures. Also everyone talks about the auto trans in this car! Why are they bad? What is an idication that it is wearing out, not that mine is.... well I hope not!

Yeah,

it kinda looks like a Mitsubichi (how do you spell that stupid word!) with that grill. Which side is the steering wheel on? Wow! That's a lot of $$ for that car though, I bought mine for $7800 in the US. About the info on the car, just read around on here and you'll learn everything you need to know and don't want to know about the car. You'll be a mechanic before you know it! Good car!

I like that grille...Remember the price is in AUD, not USD, so it's probably like around $10-12g's in the USD. Also they have a 63 liter gallon gas tank (18.5 US). There is another person here from Australia, "The-Max". He's here quite a bit.

You paid a little too much for that model dude. Mine is the M model (basics) and is now worth $15000 market value (but that's with the maximum $4000 value of aftermarket stereo equipment that the insurance allows for). And I've done the same amount of kms as yours has!

That car was worth that much mid-last year, not this year. I'd say it's true value is about $2000-$3000 less than what you paid.

Nonetheless, it's a sweet ride. Jump on my website sometime for ideas on what mods to do! 3#-)

I agree I would have to say I like the U.S. grill better. I'm also wondering about those clear corners. Straight from the factory????? Wish they would've done that here. Other than the grill, nice ride!

i personally think the grill looks like the infinity(i believe j30, could be wrong on model) older model. i was wondering, KITT, did you used to own a black US model maxima? there was another person named KITT that was supposed to have a turbo in his but then it got totaled or something.

That is the same as the UK grilles...

Like on all the Nissans there. The Almera and 200SX and everything. Weird. I like the US one better I think too, but I think it's just cuz it's different.

Maxi - Australian Model

Hi,
I live in Australia as well!
93 year Ti - when did Nissan start to make Ti? I knew (not 100% sure) - Ti replaced 30GV (my model)...
By the way - I paid for my 1995 30GV $30,000 a few month ago... and - it was only 18000 km on odometer! Have to make a picture - and put it here - it looks a bit different.

All the best - on a Maxi driver's seat!

I agree you paid absolute top dollar for that car, but with a perfect service history it might pay off in the long run. I drive a M spec and paid A15k 3 years ago with 110000kms and a 3 yr warranty.
First things I'd do to yours,

Replace all fluids/filters etc
Replace all suspect looking cooling hoses
Get rid of the mudflaps (some might not agree)
Fit a trans cooler
Suspension (shocks, springs, sways)

Congratulations on not joining the Commodore/Falcon brigade and enjoy!
BTW looks like you missed out on one option, sunroof.

Yes car comes with clear corners here in Oz

All J30 Nissan Maxima's come with clear corners. And side factory indication light. The Interoir is basicaly the same, but the dash does not have white background as some of the US models have. There black here and have a light green colour to the graphics when dash lights are on. But teh motor and transmission are the same as US models. I like the grill's that we have here as there is a nice Nissan symbol in the middle of it. And we get coloured side mirrors. Do other US model's have body coloured mirrors? What is the US top of the line model?

The clear corners look nice...

Yes, the '93 SE I am hopefully buying today has body color mirrors (dark metallic blue).

I would say the SE was the top model because it comes with the DOHC ('92 and above?) VE30DE and every one I have seen has all the options like leather, sunroof, etc. A friend has a '92 GXE and it has no options except for pwr windows, locks, etc. Has cloth seats, no sunroof, etc. it's like a large Sentra.

I always thought gxes were more loaded then SE's. My gxe is as loaded as they come. both of my seats are power. how many of you have both seats power? I thought all US se's came with black mirrors , you say yours are body color jacob?

neither are more loaded than the other; I think the SE came with a few more standard features, but both had very similar options (except digital dash which was early GXE's only); the SE is more sport oriented, while the GXE is more luxury oriented
it's not like 4th or 5th gen where SE is necessarily better than SE
my 89GXE and my 93SE both have power seats for driver and passenger
all US SE's come with black mirrors, GXE's have body colored mirrors

What's the deal?

Don't all the American models have painted side mirrors too, b/c if they don't then my last to US models have been f'ed up. My black SE had painted black mirrors and my current GXE has painted grey mirrors.
In the US, the 89-94 models go from GLE, GXE, then SE.
The GLE is the economy model that's completely unloaded. GXE is the completely loaded model and the SE is the sport version of the GXE that has all the goodies with the sports suspension, better rims/tires.
The 95-present models start at the GXE then go to GLE then SE. The "L" in GLE is supposed to stand for "leather edition." Why they switched it from the previous year beats me, but I have to explain it to everyone when I'm telling them about my 93 GXE. I need to make sure that they know that I have the loaded model and not the economy POS. Even though my new GXE isn't as fast as my old SE, I think it's pretty sporty and it still is a cool car to ride in. Go Max!

they didn't make GLE until 95 (4th generation maximas)
some people claim they have a 3rd gen GLE, but they really don't; its only SE and GXE for 89-94

95 and up
GXE was the basic and cheapest
SE is the sporty one with add-on features
GLE come completly loaded.

3rd Gen
GXE was meant to be more luxurious
SE had sport tuned suspension and spoiler.
All options were available for both except 5spd in the GXE.
