No swiss cheese airbox!!

I have a 1993 SE, and you don't have to cut a gaping hol ein the air box, just to find out later that you really don't want to suck in hot engine air after all (I mean the stock intake does provide limited fresh air intake). All I did was remove the two philips screws that hold the intake pipe to the inlet side of the airbox. Next I removed the airbox mounting screw closest to the air intake side of the box (a 10mm/philips head bolt) Then I pulled up on the airbox, while pulling off the intake pipe. Once the intake pipe pulls off, push it under the airbox, while still pulling the airbox up, and towards the battery. This will give you the same deep intake growl that slicing a corner of your box off will. And if you decide you don't like the sound, or want to turn the car back to stock etc, just pop the intake pipe back on. No muss no fuss.

ok what u just did was taking off the silencer to your engine the same amount of air is going in because u didnt change size of the hole and no hotter air is going in because the source of the air is closer to the engine u be better off leaving the silencer on then doin what u did

cut it man

the resonator (silencer) is the big black box physically attacked to the Plastic Intake Pipe between the air box and Throttle body

anyways... all of these suggestions are ghetto.. intake adapter and filter will only cost 50 dollars. better gains thru that than this

also i took that routing pipe off, i have read the arguements, but i dont care. im on my way to a cheap CAI. also, the resonator, i am confused... is it behind the air box itself or is it the part that we removed?
also what is with the tube that goes down into the lower fender and just stops, it has no hole or anything, the only benefit i saw was rocks and a big of glass in there (dont ask).

I took off the long black box that is between the MAF and the manifold, and plugged the hole with a jar lid, and heard NO difference whatsoever. I thought that was the resonator. I am planing on getting a professional CAI in a month, so until then I'll just stick with having a better sounding intake, and in a month I'll have the little bit of performance to go with it.
