I was wondering which car sounds the best with what setup? I kinda like the look of the n1 but like the sound of the greddy. Someone inform me of the sound of the Apex and give me some advice on which route i shall venture on.

Thanx

The Greddy is a catback, the N1 is not. I have a Apex Dunk, right now it is pretty quiet, but I'm adding a Stillen B pipe to it next week, so it should get a bit deeper. I am very happy with my Apex.

i didnt mean n1, dumb me, i meant the dunk. I was just curious if the apex universal were whiney or deep sounding. Ive heard the apex mufflers a loud and obnoxious. Do you have any pics of what it looks like on your ride and know if anyone has any sound files of the dunks sound on the maxima?

I like how it sounds. With just the muffler, it is actually very quiet. I'm not sure what the addition of the B pipe will do though. It should still be nice and deep. I have pics of it on my homepage under photos (click the link next to my screen name on the left). Please excuse the huge wheel gap in the pictures, I'm puttin in the H&R/Tokicos next week...lol.

I have the Apexi N-1

with 2.5" custom piping and Bonzai sports resonator. N-1 has 4.5" tip, and Dunk has 5" tip. As for the sound, Greddy is not that loud compared to my N-1. My N-1 is loud but its really deep so it doesn't sound too ricey. Even my Honda friends envy my exhaust sound. One thing I like about my N-1 is that, you can put in a Super Silencer baffle to make it almost silent(for your GF). I had mine for 2 years and it has no rust, very high quality.

Car looks nice, do the n1 and the dunk sound the same since they are both universal mufflers or are they going to sound different. I think im going to go with a universal instead of forking out the mucho dinero for the greddy catback.

Sound

N-1 and Dunk are both straight thru mufflers but Dunk is little bit quieter. I have heard the Dunk on a Civic, and I didn't like it at all. It was really loud and raspy, but then its a totally different engine. You really can't go wrong with either mufflers. If you get a custom piping don't forget to install a resonator, otherwise you'll go deaf.

IMO, the Dunk is just too huge. Look more like a cannon. Anyway, at first I wanted to get the N1 exhaust, but my local shop didn't have it. I was impatient, so I got a Focuz exhaust instead. It's not bad, but it's no N1. I'm thinking whether I should just keep this one, or get a N1? However, being both are universal exhaust, I don't think there is much difference; probably just the looks.

Listen to mighty max. I have the N1 with out a resonator. My car is LOUD. But I'm use to it now. I might be getting a super silencer though. Would the super silencer kill some of the performance though?

Super Silencer

When SCC dynoed their Civic Si's N-1 with the supersilencer on, it lost like 3-5 hp on the top end. To be honest I can hardly feel the difference with it on. You just lose on the top end so unless you're going all out racing its fine. I definitely recommend the SuperSilencer, only $50. I bought it right away because I drive alot. With the Silencer on, you barely hear the exhaust from the inside, it still sounds pretty nice from the outside.
