Supercharger and Catback?

I don't know how to run a search on forums, so i'm just posting this anyway. Anyone who can tell me how to run searches, please do. Alrighty, anyway:

I was looking into a Stillen supercharger kit for a '98 SE and was hoping someone could tell me if getting a freeflow exhaust first would be a better idea, and then getting the supercharger. Does the supercharger need better flow requirments, or can I use the stock exhaust for now?

You can do the SC first like me. I'm still running with the stock exhaust system.

You can get the supercharger first and get more Horsepower like blackcat, but if both of you guys are planing on going up in boost (smaller pulley) you will need a better flowing exhaust system, I just got my Ypipe back and not having a better flowing exhaust has caused me alot of problems to include knocking of the engine!!!yes that is bad. But since blackcat is riding around in his stock exhaust system he has had no problems so that should answer your question. I also have been reading that there is a G/deal on a Ypipe for $140 and that is very cheap. If I was both of you guys Id jump on that it is well worth it trust me.

Blackcat that was very smart decision to just say forget all the petty stuff and jumped on the big horse (supercharger) that is very wise decision on your part , I paid 615.0 for my greddy and then 403.00 for my Ypipe, a used supercharger $2800.00 you do the math which will give you more HP. $1800 more dollars will give you the most HP.

I'd love to get one but I'm going to follow a system (suggested by my workbuddy) which is buying a mod every 6 months. Easier on the wallet but it feels like dieting! I just ordered pulleys from DanNY so that's my mod for now...

Thanks Jay! You're the first one to recognize what I was trying to achieve (Power over Looks) and to avoid (All Show, No Go)! Yep, that was one quantum leap I did and without reading ahead of time anything about V2 woes!

I just need some subtle gauges next and leave the exhaust upgrade last. Then I'll want a new paint job!

Btw Jay and other SC'ers...did you guys get your cars tuned after the SC install? I haven't dynoed it yet but there's a local speed shop that is offering either a standard dyno or a dyno with tuning. I'm not certain whether I have to do it myself or the shop will do the tuning but I'll have to investigate into it further.
