Went out racing last night....

We went to the illegal streets last night since it was Sunday and cops aren't even going to bother to check...so it was just me and my friends....Param - 02 RSX-S, Joe - 94 Integra LS, Vito - 87 BMW 325i, and me with my Max....Performance wise we are all completely all 100% stock. They are all manual trans. and I have an auto. I lost to all of them. They are only OK drivers. Not quick shifting wise. RSX-S Is scared to push the car to it's limit so he shifts like at 6500-7000RPM. RSX I was on his *** when we past the mark. The other two cars lost to me when they just had a ****y launch...But be me by like 1-2 car lengths when everyone did flawless....any inputs....I hope I get a 5spd car or conversion soon....

I'm kind of surprised you lost to the Integra LS. Even in 5spd form, they are pretty slow.

The RSX-S is a different story. Even an auto like mine with the basic bolt ons would probably lose to one. They are fast.

I don't know about the 325i. Since it's an older model, it couldn't be that fast.

I am also very suprised you lost to an integra LS and the bmw. Although dont expect to beat any acura RSX-S anytime soon without a few more mods, are u sure the other 2 were stock? if they were u might want to get your O2 sensers looked at or something like that, my friend has an LS with exhuast intake and headers, and i still whipe the floor with him and im a stock auto, you should not have lost to him, 5speed or auto

i'm sure they are all stock due to the fact that i'm their only mechanic...
Well my tranny seems to be lagging a little compared to before...I have a tranny cooler and a FSTB...It's just my launch seems to be horrible...The launches seemed to improve when i turned OD off... what do you guys think i should check???

well when OD is off, it only locks out 4th gear, so you shouldnt feel any difference in 1st and 2nd...also, you should check your spark plugs, good grade of gas, and knock sensor...

Yeah, OD won't affect your launch. How are you launching, flooring it all the way from a dead start is not a way to launch. Try this...give it between 1/2 to 3/4 gas and once it gets moving, floor it and hold on

I have no clue why you're getting beat. My girl has a 94 LS. It handles like a shifter cart but its pretty slow. My other car is a 87 325e 5spd. It has tons of torque but not alot of HP. Both are much slower than my Max. I can't imagine your Max being that much slower just b/c its auto. I'm going to have to agree with these other guys and suggest you look over your ride, and don't skimp on the gas quality.

u lost to a 90 or lower beamer and a 94 prelude?!

if i remember correctly, we have more hp, torque and weigh LESS than a 1990 BMW 325 convertible...so how can a 87 beat u???? the ONLY advantage they have is RWD and even at the wheel i believe we still have more power....the 90 is like 168 and we can't be too far from that....

Are you sure it wasnt an 87 325iS instead of just a 325i? The 325i should be pretty slow, but I could see a 325iS with 5 speed beating an auto max. They are around 160-170 hp and about the same amount of torque.

Agreed, if your car just isn't running correctly, you should have three easy kills with one race.

I've driven an 86 325e five speed and it felt quicker than my friends stock 97 Maxima. From a stop I'm not suprised that you got worked by the Bimmer; the one I drove pulled very nicely from about 3-5K RPM.

The RSX-S may be quick but its only 300 lbs lighter. If you ran a manual to manual trans it would be of course closer (or get a 2k2), Max is heavier but has WAY more torque. If your not revving the heck out of the RSX it won't be making any power.
