going to upgrade my suspension, need your opinions. thx

after 2 years in my Maxima SUV...I finally decided to put my money down for a new set of shocks and springs. what do u guys think about my selection?

front shock : tokico blue
rear shock : KYB AGX 8way adj.
spring: eibach prokit.

and one more question for ppl live in Bay Area with eibach prokit....

I know it is stiff and I wonder how is it like to drive on the 880 and 580? And by lowering 1.3", will you see a lot of dents and chips on the upper portion of your hood?

thx

I'm getting pretty close to your set-up, i'll be using Maxspeed instead of Eibach's.

Still looking around for a good price on the Tok's. Shox quoted me $328 for all 4 so i'm guessing the front's are in the $200 range.

Anyhow, i'm curious... why would people see more dents on the hood when lowered?

got quote from a friend for the front tokicos...125 each. I believe I can ask him to lower the price. and no tax for cash.

I am thinking about getting the rear agx from phoung at GR racing.

or should we get it together see if it will be cheaper? and btw, why do u pick maxspeed? for the stock quality ride?

I believe there's more dents/chips after lowering b/c the nose is dropped 1.3 inch (for eibach, 1.7 for maxspeed?) and the stones/rocks that was usually hitting the car bra is now getting on the middle of the hood. I have seen it on my friend's integra with Eibach sportsline....he's getting chips on the upper portion of his hood.

I am thinking about switching to ventguard after I lower the car.

Shox just got back to me, $99 each for the front Toks. I got maxspeed as it was the cheapest and several months ago, inspite of everyone saying H&R is better than Maxspeed there was no one who could actually prove it. Seeing other members using Maxspeed w/o problems just helped ease me into buying it.

Not to mention, i already know Maxspeed's reputation with the Honda crowd.

I can see how it'll happen on an Integra, but on a Maxima? Our Max sits just as low as a BMW when lowered and i don't see BMW's having dents on the hood. My logic could be flawed however.

In any case, i guess i'll be okay. I have a Carflector up front to help out

Speaking from personal experience I would seriously think about waiting for the koni's since you've waited this long. My friends civic has koni reds(non adj) with Eibach sportlines and the ride is smoother than stock. We all know that the sportlines are harsh as hell, but I rode in it and the ride is a hell of a lot better than my max. Then again he does have stock rims and tires though.

99...that's cheap! do u live in cali? b/c I do, after tax and shipping, it will come up to 130 each. I wanna try some local shops...but alwasy heard it is more expensive at locals.

and the reason that I didnt want to go with maxspeed is that it has only been out for a short period of time for maxima....I wonder how well they will sustain long time use/abuse....how long has it been out on hondas?

but max got really weak paint though I believe BMW's paint are 7 layers plus clear coat. and they customer services fix paint cheap for free each visit for service.

I will get a deflector from custom max for sure after I lower it.

Koni is coming out adjustables? I know KYB is coming out adj. for 2k+ on their 2k3 catalog. If konis are available, it will be my number one choice after hearing so many good things about it. but seems like now...only tokico supports 5th gen.

I'm in Houston. Based on prices i've found locally Shox would still come out cheaper for me. (Can u believe a set of 4 toks would cost $400+ here?)

Maxspeeds are known mostly for their coilovers but they do make springs for Honda's, VW's and Nissan's among others. I'd say they're several years in the market now.

As far as the deflector goes, might want to check out E-Bay. I got mine for $20+. Here's a close-up and here's how it looks overall (note: headlights + skirts are photoshopped)
