Knocking noise in rear over bumps

I did a search and couldn't find anything on this. I have Ground Control coilovers with Eibach springs. I have the rears set all the way up and the fronts all the way down.

For some reason, whenever I have someone in my backseat, there is a loud BANG whenever I go over even the smallest speedbump.

Is this:

A. My tires rubbing
B. My shocks grounding out
C. Bumpstops- I don't even know what bumpstops are....
D. None of the above

Do you have a Rear ADCO Sway Bar? If so, thats your problem.
If not, I have groundcontrol coilovers and rides smooth and quiet without springs. I would get rid of those eibachs

Nope. no sway bar. Maybe I do have Ground COntrol springs too. It's whatever comes in that kit that Stillen sells. I thought the coils were GC, but the springs were Eibach. maybe not.

I have never heard of seperate springs. I got my ground controls from ground control and the coilover has the GC spring with it.

Why is the back raised all the way up? mine is all the way down in the front and 80% down in the rear.

I would call stillen to find out what they sent you. My GC's ride perfect no bouncing, noise, nothing its low and smooth. I have 18's and no rubbing either. Here's a pic of mine:

Dude! You are in Arizona! I parked next to you at Best Buy on a Saturday night about two weeks ago......

The funny thing is that 2K1HoMax thought your car was my car and I thought your car was his car........

Unfortunately the kit came on the car and I have no clue what it is to be honest. I ould have sworn it is a GC kit with Eibach springs. they are both red.

And here's mine.... I don't like me rear that low. This is all the way up.

Yup the Best Buy across from PV MALL. I can't even tell that its all the way up. It looks pretty much the same as mine. I would find out about your set up and what stillen sold you.

As for my max those pictures are the last of it. I sold my Place Racing CAI, selling my rims and tires tonight, and only have my ground controls and stillen y-pipe to sell.

Going back to OEM to trade/sell the car.

That's too bad. that wasa sweet looking ride.

FYI the gound control springs are made by Eibach. The knocking you hear could be your resonator banging against the speed bump. Just a guess

I knew it!

Nope- I am not grounding out. It sounds like a banging coming from the trunk. When I ground out, it grinds. It sounds like the wheels are trying to bang through the wheel well.

its called.. bottoming out, and thats what your doing. what kind of STRUTS do you have? if you have the stock struts with the GC then they are probably blown.

Your GC are ONLY Springs, not Springs/Strut combo.

most likely i believe it to be blown struts.

or if you have the modified AGX's then set it stiffer.

When you say "bottoming out", you mean the strut is bottoming out- not that my car is hitting the ground, right?

I have stock struts. Do I need to replace all 4?

yup.. bottoming out as in the strut, not your car.

since you have stock struts, i would HIGHLY reccommend replacing them. the best struts in my opinion with a GC setup are the KYB AGX's. you need to modify them a little bit to make them fit (they are orginially for the 4th gens)

its not too hard modifying them, or you can buy them already modified.

Actually I am pretty sure we have struts on our car man! People use them interchangably though to mean the same thing.

when did you notice the problem...how long after you put the maxspeeds in? i haven't installed mine yet, but may wait til the $ is handy to get the struts too if it was pretty quick after you installed the maxspeeds. how many miles on your stock struts at switch, and how many miles after did you notice probs?

I have the same problem, even before i put my rims on and i have to barly roll over speed bumps inorder not to hear a loud tump. If the struts are the problem then everything is all good but i also have a box with 2 12's could the weight in the back be the problem???
