Duck Hit My Hood

I was on the way to work this week and a Duck came out of the bushes flew right onto my front windscreen and hit at 75mph, then it rolled down and hit and dented the bottom on the hood, broke the bracket on my left headlight. The total damage is about $200 to 300 bucks at this point and i may have to repaint the entire hood. Man i'm so ****ed right now, because i just bought the hood deflector from Bill Stromer on this site and am waiting to install it as soon as it comes UPS. Now i have to fix this messed up hood b4 i can do the hood deflector. I hate Ducks for life as from now on. This Duck was like the size of a wild turkey ...and just a few weeks ago, i missed a Dear that ran back in the bushes...damn Dear was about to run in front my car...

I should apologize for making light of the situation...but I just can't imagine a DUCK flying into my windshield. I would probably lose it and laugh myself off the side of a cliff or something. I mean a mosquito, yes...but a DUCK???

yeah a Duck a big one flew right onto my windscreen. Thank God the screen is strong enough, otherwise it might came through hit me and i could have lost control off the road..and ended up in an accident. There was a guy driving next to me and he asked me if i'm ok, then he said he was scared . Yes it's a Duck that damage my car... wish i can show you guys pics. No i didn't keep the duck it bounced off the hood and landed somewhere on the road ...i didn't call my insurance since my dectuctible is $500, if the glass was broken i sure would have...

MMM PEKING DUCK! You should have picked it up and at least had a roast! If it was that big of a Duck you could survive on duck meat for weeks and save the money for groceries to repair you hood!

Seriously dude..that sucks big time!

Hey, cut the guy some slack.

I had an effin' robin do that to me at about 75 on I-88. No damage to my contour, but after it came off my grill, it got stuck up under my windshield wipers, and stared accusingly at me for a few miles until I could get rid of it. (No, I didn't stop. Hell, I didn't even slow down. Turning the windshield wipers on finally did the trick.) There was never a time that I owned the car, where I didn't check my air filter and find some feathers.

The guy who owns it now is probably still finding feathers in his intake.

Now about that 'Dear' that ran into the bushes... Your wife?

My parents had an Owl fly into the side of their van once. Here they were, travelling down the highway at night and wham, something slams into the passenger door window. Scared the living daylights out of my mother. They back tracked and found a dead Owl at the side of the road. We figure it was chasing a rodent across the road at just the wrong time.
