I would like to know if i can use a 2 channel, amp bridge it and run 2 Alpine Type R 12" DVC subs with it in Parallel. The subs are 300 watts RMS 4+4ohm. According to the manual if i run them in Parallel they will have a 2ohm load..
these are the amps i have been looking at

ALPINE MRV-T420
• Max Power (EIAJ) 225Wx2 (4ohm; Stereo) 600Wx1 (Bridged 4ohm
• 12V RMS Continuous Power 4ohm; Stereo (0.08% THD) 75Wx2 2ohm; Stereo (0.3% THD) 120x2 Bridged 4ohm; (0.3% THD) 240x1
•14.4V RMS Continuous Power 4ohm; Stereo (0.08% THD) 110Wx2 2ohm; Stereo (0.3% THD) 170x2 Bridged 4ohm; (0.3% THD) 340x1

OR

Alpne 500m amp
• 900W MAX Power
• 500W x 1 (2ohm 14.4V)
• V12 AccuClass-D™ Design

OR
JBL BP600.1
Output 4 Ohms: 300W x 1
Output 2 Ohms: 600W x 1

Now if you don't think any of the above amps are a good match, or they simply can't push my subs in a safe manner,,,please suggest some amps. My subs are craving for power. I feel bad running them with low power amps...

thanks...i will have the cookies ready

I would go with the Alpine 500M or even stronger would be a JL 500/1 for around the same price.
Keep the cookie...I'm on a diet

Is the JL stable in 1 ohm? I think he should get the JBL bp600.1 so he can run the coils and the subs in parallel and get most power out of it.

JL puts out a continous output of 500 watts regardless of what load you put it at. No need to run it down to a 1 ohm load and increase your distortion. This amp will be fine for your subs.

I didn't know that. So at 8ohms and 1ohm, it puts out the same power?

Yes, but only from 1.5-4 ohms. Car systems run at a 4 ohms not 8 ohms. Most home systems are 8 ohms.

You can still wire subs into an 8ohm load, like one dual 4ohm sub... But I was just proposing an example.

So the JL would be the best bet, but for a budget amp, can't go wrong with JBL.

so hook em up like yay
to get a 2ohm load?? and if the diagram is correct, what would be difference in wattage for each amp?
How many watts will
jl 500/1 put out and how many will the jbl 600.1 put out?
thanks

You cant get 2ohms with dual 4ohm subs.

oops...i just looked at the manual again, and you are right i can't..
the diagram that the manual shows is this one

..which will make it a 4ohm load..isn't this setup in SERIES though? at least thats what the directions suggest

You can wire each sub at 2 ohms or 8 ohms, then bridge to 4 ohms, 1 ohm, or 16 ohms. So the JL, or any other mono block that is designed to run at 4 or 1 ohm. Or a good two channel amp. The JL may have less power than the JBL, but power without control is just a headache. The JBL's sell for a fraaction of the cost for good reason, they are worth a fraction as much.

Looks like a typical series parallel setup. You parallel the 2 voice coils of each individual sub, thus making each sub 2 ohm mono then you wire the 2 subs in series with each other and to the amp...add the 2 plus 2 and you have a 4 ohm mono load with the voltage, thus wattage being shared equally in theory.
