i have all next week to myself before conversion and if i can't get all my parts new, those used i would like to look new...i would like to clean trans and other parts for conversion with water, cloth and probably some type of degreaser or soap....is all this safe or would some of this stuff get into parts and cause problems? what u guys recommend?

i like simple green, it works and its biodegradable. You can get it at most home improvement places, and some auto places.

Soap and water wouldn't do anything compaired for the things I wrote up.
i beg to differ...i did a quick wipe on the flywheel and removed so much dirt...not trying to spend extra money on cleaning products, just want to use what nature gave me i'm not trying to make it shiney, just clean enough so when we pick it up to put parts in, we won't be getting our hands crazy dirty....

ol, soap, water and elbow strength should take care of that right?
