Not that it would make a huge difference...but try removing your spare and jack. Its simple and not drastic.

Weight Reduction

I am not sure who makes it but there is light-weight carpet available for the Maxima and it supposedly saves you like 35lbs. It might be worth it but I would acutally worry more about your centrifigal weight (unsprung weight) more due to the drastic gains you will feel and continue to notice.

Get lighter wheels and lighter, better brakes. Although these are expensiv eyou will gain the most from them. Good luck.

just as good as any other suggestion. its $ucks that i (at 200 lbs) would have to take out my spare, my jack, everything out of the trunk, along with my front and back seats just to be even with a 140 lb driver.

You should try a carbon fiber hood... it costs big bucks but saves you about 30LBs of weight over the front end that is fairly high on the car.
It would make your car a whopping 1% faster.

Maximas are fairly light to begin with right around 3100LBs. Considering how big the car is, that is good.

That is one reason why they have quite a lot of road noise... the sheet metal all over the body is fairly thin and flimsy compared to other cars.
There really isn't a whole lot of noise insulation under the carpet.
