Finally bought nitrous system!

I finally bought the zex 82011 kit! I can't wait to finish installing it. Seems like a 4-6 hour job. How long did it take you guys to do it? Also I plan on just doing 55 shot at first but is it safe to do higher on the stock max engine? maybe 75? Also is replacing the spark plugs on our cars that important or not?
Can't wait to run it!!! Thanks

Nice! How much did you pay for it? Brand new? I noticed you got the kit made for V6 Accords, is that the kit that the Zex tech line told you to get? Did they also say if the Nissan kit would work?

Plan on an hour tops for the basic kit...other items are more time consuming...let me know if you want a play by play...I can write up and snap some shots tomorrow...

Congrats on the Zex kit you will have alot of fun with it. Looks like Zex is becoming more popular on the org than any other brands

a few hints when installing the kit is first to completly straighten out the nitrous feed line that your running from the trunk to the engine bay...by doing this it realeases some of the coil in the line so it doesnt bunch up as your trying to run it under your car..trust me if it does its a pain in the ****! Also pick up a few ft. of efi hose line or wire loom to better protect the nitrous line when running them against your fuel lines under the car. When ever you see that the nitrous line will rub against a metal object or a screw...cover that section with efi or wire loom just to be on the safe side. Finally give some thought on where you will mount the NMU box in your engine bay before you bolt it down to ensure you have enough slack in the feed line so everything connects correctly.

Also you should have no problems running a 55 shot with OEM parts one thing i would suggest is picking up one or two step colder plugs to spare your self from detonation. I personally picked up the Zex plugs and i have no complaints yet...actually i noticed a gain in off the bottle performance even with the plugs being colder. Lastly, remember to run 91 octane or higher at all times while on the bottle.

Finally, Aaron im also running the 82011 kit and it works great...so is wizza max,bernie2000se and now 98maxsel. Trust me just pick up this particular kit and you will be fine.

Naw, I didn't call the Zex tech. That's what couple of the guys on the org told me to get 82011. The guy at the local perf shop who sold it to me said all zex kits are the same. Only difference in the kits is the type of jet nozzles it comes with. I bought it brand new and paid $550 including tax for it. can;t wait , can't wait!@

But, I have a 3rd gen SE. I'm wondering if it will make a difference. Also, I heard that older Zex kits wouldn't work with the TPS not putting out enough voltage. There is a chance I will buy a used kit and I don't want it to be the older kit that won't work. Any thoughts?

Throttle position sensor voltage must pass the following test:

A: Locate the T.P.S. (usually directly across from throttle linkage)

B: Turn ignition to on position (do not start engine)

C: Using a digital voltmeter, check each wire for a low voltage reading of approximately 1 volt.

D: Only one wire should have this low voltage with the throttle closed

E. While on that same wire, open the throttle completely and check the voltage reading

F. If your voltage reads 4.2 volts or higher, you are ready to install your ZEX nitrous kit

Aaron do this short process go pick up a voltmeter from radio shack or borrow it from someone. And buy the kit everyone else has...

I have the same kit as well. Works good. Get the MSD RPM window switch too......makes it all the more safer.
