Theoretical Nitrous Question

My brother has an 11-second '94 Z28 and he had been running a fully adjustable nitrous setup called "nitrous-in-a-bag" or something like that. Basically, he has a 10 lb bottle in his back seat in a duffle bag, with a bottle heater and a bottle-mounted nitrous pressure gauge that runs to a nozzle which he sprays in the equivalent of our intake midpipe, etc. The nitrous is activated by a push-button.

Is there anything in our cars that would restrict us from running a similar setup?

Re: Theoretical Nitrous Question

It's called "Bag O' Nitrous"

BAG O' NITROUS
Bag O'Nitrous is the secret weapon of choice for many street racers'. It contains a 10# bottle concealed in a duffle bag. Cigarette lighter power source with solenoid attached to the bottle. Simply route the Nitrous feed line to the Carb. or FI system and your ahead of the opponent. This kit comes with 5 jets that can support from 20 to 100 HP, depending on application.

It's about half-way down the page:

The only thing I can see wrong with this is not having the fuel pressure bumped up to support the larger shot of n2o.

I agree with SLC, fuel pressure has to be able to be bumped up to run a dry setup such as you described.

Are you after being stealth and noone knowing you have juice? If so, you can easily do it with the 5124 or any other kit for that matter by simply being creative with the solenoid mounting position. You can cover the bottle with anything just the same. Jet can be mounted under the intake and will hardly be noticeable.

I was just wondering. I have a 5124 kit on the way but I was searching for possible alternatives for the NOS, NX, or ZEX kit we have at the moment. Also the fact it took my brother about an hour to install a nitrous kit was quite alluring.

The Zex kit can be installed in an hour as well...two wires, ground, run line thru existing holes in trunk and bolt brackets down...done in about an hour for basic system,,,accessories take a bit more.

My rule of thumb has been to always add two hours to every estimated install time because always something doesnt go as expected. I'm targeting New Years Day as my install day.
