Hiding place for bottle?
Hiding place for bottle?
I am just about to install my Zex bottle in my car and was wondering where would be a good hiding place for the bottle? The reason I am going to hide it is because I am going to race at the track for money and the first thing the people I am going to race are gona say,"you got Nitrious." Any recommendation.

just my 2 cents
Safety would dictate the trunk in the sedan the only bet for assurance of "what if"...
you could remove your spare (which you should do at the track anyway)
and mount the bottle down in the sump...no one has ever asked about my bottle and tech did not even look in teh trunk so who cares if they know if you are juiced or not.

but it has to sit at a 15 deg. angle unless you remove the syphn tube but then you could mount it on the back of the seat then put up paneling or your speaker box next to it to hide it... but its pretty obvious under the hood if you have n2o.

If so you are better than one of the tech inspectors we had at a race this year. He wanted to know why I wanted to run in the boosted class (turbo/supercharged/nitrous). When I told him I had nitrous he had another close look and agreed. You really have to know what you are looking for.

If it wasn't for the labels and arrows could you spot my 100 shot wet setup?

from that picture no, but checking out the engine... yes I think so.
Well knowing that people aren't familiar with our engines it would make it easier to conceal it. If a honda freak looks at our engine it looks a bit confusing, so wrapping your lines in rubber would conceal a lot.

Woah. Jim, where did you actually mount your solenoids?

It was an NHRA tech inspector that checked it and couldn't see the nitrous, so I thot I did pretty good at hiding it. The black plastic loom stuff really blends in with the stock wiring etc and I used it for the all the nitrous, fuel and electrical wiring.
When my NX kit comes in what I plan on doing is making a small box out of MDF a little larger than the bottle. Put carpet around it and stick my beautiful 1980's house sub into it..Bingo...hidden nitrous, custom stereo
