Electronic EGT, fuel and nitrous pressure gauges

Those are the gauges I want to run with my nitrous. I just want to see what your recommendations are.

Whats EGT gauge and does one need to have something drilled ro have it read what ever it reads?

Exhaust Gas Temperature = EGT Gauge/Pyrometer

Yes.....you drill either a hole in your ypipe or for a more accurate reading, your exhaust manifold.

Even better is your rear exhaust manifold since those cylinders are the ones to run leanest because of being on the farthest end of the fuel rail...

how do you seal the exhaust after placing the probe? I would hate to have a exhaust leak under the floor of my car.

Normally you drill and tap but the best way is to have the fitting welded on. I did drill and tap the manifold but the temp was to high for the EGT so had to move it further down on the Y-Pipe. Then put a plug in the manifold.

To further explain what my buddy Jim is saying...the probe will not leak if you have a bung welded to the Y. The probe then goes into the bung via a compression fitting, hence no leak. Any muffler shop worth $5 can do it in a few mins. Some hardcore guys around here have gone as far as putting two probes (1 in the front bank, 1 in the back) to monitor even better.

Well in my case the probe was part of a hose clamp. So you drill the hole and then put the hose clamp on the Ypipe or wherever you drilled it and it is tight. But the key thing it is sealing the hole with the probe is that there is a small circular exhaust style gasket, so when the hose clamp is tight, the gasket is nice and tight against the pipe.

Or you could also have the probe welded onto the piping which if done correctly is a fail-proof way to seal it....

What do you mean "I did drill and tap the manifold but the temp was to high for the EGT so had to move it further down on the Y-Pipe."??? Isn't this where you would get the most accurate reading of the EGT?

Yea but the tap part of the statement he said, most taps are brass style NPT fittings, they will melt at 1550-1600F.

I remember a while back I saw some electric gauges by the name "dynoXXX", does anyone know the full name? I like the way they displayed information and one could not tell what it displayed unless one installed them and knew what each one was.

Founded it. If anyone cares the company is called dynotune and can be found at dynotune.org. However look to spend around $150 per gauge.

Was wondering how do you hook up a fuel pressure gauge?

There is usually a fuel pressure sending unit that goes on the supply line and then you hookup the plug there which then hooksup to the FP gauge itself.
