EGT:When exactly do I run lean or rich?

I was wondering if you guys can tell me what the normal is. My freeway driving usually is at 1200. When I spray nitrous, what range is rich, lean, and the best range?
Please tell me what your guys' ranges are.

By the way, I read the other thread and it didn't really give a concrete discription of lean, rich, and ideal

take it to the top of third gear N/A and see what you're running at.
You should be stoich..

Do another run to the top of third spraying and see what happenes..

Im at 1400 at the top of third and 1600 spraing at the top of third..
Im also an auto..SO im going a bit faster...

Isn't 1400 and 1600 way too high?

Your thinking of degrees Celsius. The best way to calculate it is to do a 1/4 mile run. At the end of the 1/4 mile, you should be around 1470-1500 Faranhiet, or 800-820 Celsius.

No I was thinkin ok Faranhiet, still 1400 and above is way too high. What plugs are you running?

Umm, no... 1400F is not way too high. What are you talking about?

Is this on nitrous or off?

The idea is to keep the same range when you are WOT off the bottle as you are WOT ON the bottle.

N/A I'm about 1400F at WOT and Im at 1400F WOT on the bottle spraying.

If I were to be at 1600F on the bottle at WOT, I'd be lean and if I were at 1200F at WOT on the bottle I'd be rich.

1400*F = 760*C. More than safe.

C = [(F-32)*(5/9)]

So becuase I am running 200 hotter, I would have to increase the fuel jet?

If you're hotter, your mixture is lean so you want a smaller fuel bypass jet since you want more fuel. The larger the jet size, the more fuel it vents off.

I may be off here but I believe since he's running a NX kit, the larger the jet size the more fuel he gets. A larger jet = more volume of flow leaving at a lower pressure.

Also on NOS kits don't you want a larger bypass jet to get more fuel

Oh, he's wet? Not sure then, as far as the bypass jets go:

"Your NOS kit probably came with a .042 jet that you were supposed to use in the bypass tee. This jet regulates the amount of pressure that is vented into the intake manifold. The more pressure that is vented off, then less fuel pressure you will have. Therefore, if your fuel pressure is too high, which means you are running rich, you will want to move up to a bigger jet in the bypass tee. If you are lean, then you will want to put a smaller jet in the bypass tee to bump up the fuel pressure some more. If you are at a .042 jet and you want to increase fuel pressure, just go to a .040 jet, see where that takes you, and then adjust accordingly. To drop the fuel pressure, you’ll probably have to go more than one size up. For example, when I was running my 100shot jet with a .042 fuel jet, my fuel pressure was over 100psi. To get it to around 85psi, I had to move my way up to a .072 jet in the bypass tee. Depending on your own fuel pressure regulator, you may or may not have to go up that much. You’ll just have to try and find out what works for your car. If a .044 jet isn’t lowering your fuel pressure enough then go up some more until it does." - Sx7r

I'm confused then I'm running a .034 bypass jet right now and only getting ~60-62psi, so I'm not even in the ballpark. I have clamps around the lines, and I don't hear any leaks. My bottle is even at 1000psi.

It's different on every car, I couldnt get an even mixture until I went up to an 85 shot jet. I'm using a .55 bypass jet. If you really want to bring fp down you need to look into much larger bypass jets.
