do I need a fuel pressure regulator?

I'm upping to a 75 shot tonight but I didn't get a FPR. I have an upgraded fuel pump though because the guy at the shop told me I don't need it. Actually I went to two shops and they both said I don't need it since the ZEX box controls the pressure. Do you guys have any suggestions? I plan to first try a 65 shot and see if I'm running lean or rich, then up it to 75 shot.

You don't need one but you'll be rich when you're driving around off the bottle. Rich is better than being lean but burning the extra fuel off the bottle is going to make you lose power.

And you'll get horrible gas mileage since at idle you'll be getting more than 34 psi. That's one of the reasons I don't want to spend the money to upgrade my pump/FPR yet. I don't plan to spray a ton so I don't feel it's worthwhile to spend $100 (upgraded pump) and get bad gas mileage, or $250 to do things right with a pump/FPR.

That would explain why I'm running very rich w/o NOS, actually with NOS it's still running rich. What do you recommend for a FPR for a 5th gen maxima? Thanks in advance!
