ok, this is kinda silly, but i just watched 2fast 2furious.
my question is this, why can't you use the nitrous more than once per run? or is that just in the movie. i would think that you could spray it once in each gear before the revs get too high????

i'm curious cuz i'm actually thinking of getting a nitrous system to tide me over to a new car.

Yes, nitrous is not like in video games. You can have window switches, etc, etc, but most of the time it sprays when you floor it. Basically, you would hit the switch when you leave the starting line and spray the entire way down the track.

so let me see if i got this right. once you hit the switch, it's just on. it's not like a predetermined amount that gets sprayed? oooooooh..
thanks.

so how much does it normally cost to fill these tanks up? is it safe to have in the car on these hot summer days, or does it blow up?
also, am i gonna need anything else to make it work? like a vb mod, bigger exhaust? i want more power, but not a totally obnoxious daily driver either.

You can set it up to go off at WOT and keep spraying until you ease off. You can also have switches that activate it, but then when you're racing its just one more thing you need to worry about.

I got to ride a NOS motorcycle once. Insane!
Get it up to about 120 in 3rd and then hit the horn button. Instant wheelie and 160 coming up faaast!
Totally worthless in 1st & 2nd on a bike unless you're a pro drag racer.
I belive you can set up car systems to hit at a certain RPM.

Only get nitrous if you plan on going to the track and using it. Otherwise it will get really expensive really fast. Fillups are $40 and the bottle goes dry quickly. Also, you can't just spray whenever you want. You will need to heat the bottle to the correct pressure level in order for it to work properly.

Your nitrous bottle will not "blow up" in the summer like F&F. First off, nitrous is not flammable. If you get a blow down tube, the worst that could happen is that if the pressure gets too high, the safety cap will break and the entire bottle will empty outside of your car. If you don't have a blow down tube, the entire bottle will empty inside your trunk.

There are tons of variables involved and the $500 kit is only the beginning. Expect to spend $1000+ in equipment alone for the right setup.

Im thinking of a 20 lb bottle

thanks. the reason i asked was cuz i thought i read that your tank blew it's top in some hot water bath. at least, i think it was you. also, i've had various other things blow up inside my car on hot days, like soda cans (messy) and a paintball air canister. so i'm pretty wary of pressurized containers right now. good to know there's some relief valve.

The bottle can withstand a great deal of pressure. You wont see your bottle go over 1500 psi on a really hot day, I believe the blow off cap is rated ar 3200 psi and the bottle can withstand more.

As far as the blowoff cap, that feature failed once...Check out a 3rd gen maxima.....I dont know what the hell happened. But half the car was gone.

I believe the bottle are hydrostaticly tested to 8000 psi.

It failed because he had two caps on it, so they redesigned it so its idiot proof.

of course theres a predetermined amount. Thats how you get the different shot levels (i.e 30, 50 , 100, etc). Its all determined by the Jet size...
