Gapping Spark Plugs

Hey I was wondering, for my set up, Intake, Catback, Y pipe, what gap setting should my spark plugs be for a 50 shot....and a 75 shot if I decide to do that?

I was also wondering would it be OK to pull the old spark plugs and re-gap them or would I have to buy new ones?

And last but not least, gapping like this is for what? To run safer? Does it HAVE to be done? Will this slow me down running N/A ?

Thanks
-Chris

I run mine at .035 gap two steps colder BKR7E's for N/A and all shots up to 150.

My N/A time is 14.6 with an auto so I don't think it hurts performance at all and I have tried the standard heat range and the 2 step colder ones same day and no diff in performance.

Its much safer with it gapped closer and colder because it reduces head temperature and reduces the chance of blowing out the spark.
