Damage...
Damage...
I have been thinking, and i cant really make up my mind....
I want to get a SC but its 2 expensive and Nitrous just seems awsome hehe...
I kinda am leaning towards geting a wet kit, but i use my car as a daily comuter and i dont want to use the kit if its going to EXTENSIVELY damage my engine or tranny...
My Enging has about 105k miles and my tranny has about 65k miles (tranny went out @ 36k miles ..... like a few miles past waranty, dealership hooked it up tho, i just had to pay install)....
Will hooking up a kit to my ride prevent it from running as long as possible? im a n00b and dont know how to do much....im learning fast but i dont wana have to end up doing a rebuild at 150k miles JUST cause i decided to put nitrous in...
and i know it all depends on how much you do it....im gona be conservative with it and possibly squeeze at the track on the weekends? or every other weekend? is that too much? too little? dont worry about it? IM LOST!!! lol

I believe that nitrous is the best of both worlds. You can go fast at the track and drive like a granny during the week. (If you choose)
Of course any form of boost is putting more stress on your engine, how much stress depends on how much boost you run regardless of whether its nitrous, S/C or turbo. If you do what I do and race once or twice a month its probably easier on the engine than running a S/C or turbo full time.
Its cheap to install in comparison to the other forms of boost and quite easy as well.
I'm a wet kit fan, (especially NX) I did have a dry kit first and wet requires no turning like the dry kit. You can run a much higher shot before you need to upgrade your fuel pump because wet uses stock fuel pressure vs boosting to high levels to get the extra fuel through the injectors.
Its very easy to knock well over a second of your 1/4 mile time with a very small shot. I actually drop from 14.6 N/A to 13.1 with a 35 shot running slicks so thats a very dramatic increase for such a small shot.
Go for it.

Should be able to handle a 75 HP shot no problem and quite possibly a 100 but I wouldn't recommend that unless you are watching the fuel pressure gauge closely and have a fuel pressure safety switch set at just below the 43 psi WOT fuel pressure.
hey jime... what psi should i set my FPSS at? i bought one as a safety precaution... but it didn't really say on what psi i should set it at... i have a 2k3 if that helps...i think u said my WOT fuel pressure is 52... so should i set it right below that? or is it better to set it at like 40 or so
