Auto tranny drop resistor mod with NOS

I have heard alot of hype about this mod, and it sounds as if it is the best thing to do for the trans at the track. How is it for everyday driving, and where is the wire you have to disconnect located. I have seen a bunch of posts about it, but nothing to show you how to do it. If you have done this, tell me what you think. I have seen posts that say if you are racing with an Auto that this will save the trans and give lots of performance. I think I would like to try it since I have a trans cooler, and that seems to be the only prerequisite to doing this.

drop resistor is too rough for normal driving
if uw anan do it it's located on the drivers side strut mount thing..on the side....there's no other plugs around it.. so u should be able to find it... it's attached on there

I would definitely recommend only doing it at the track. I did it about 8 months ago, and when i plugged it back in a couple weeks ago, i realized i F'ed up my tranny. It slips so bad now, i have to unplug the resistor just so it changes gears.

How long did you use the mod? Did you run it at all rpms? or just at wot? Did you use a tranny cooler?

DR mod shouldnt ruin your tranny unless you didnt take the precautions...

like i said i did it for about 8 months. i replaced the tranny cooler with a Hayden (sp?) tranny cooler, and i had the resistor hooked up to a switch on the dash. i left it "on" for the most part. unless it was wet or snowy, because it would break the tires free when it shifted into second.
