Nitrous problems

Don’t get me wrong i love nitrous, ive smoked a Evo Lancer with it, and even beaten a moded 300zx TT... but when its just not working at all , its no fun.

I just installed a purge kit not to long ago and its been giving me nothing but headrace, from the leaking to the button not working. Well today i took the button out from the dash and it turns out it had fallen apart. So when i put the button back together and tested it i could hear the silanoid go off so it was working! Then when i put the button back in the dash, and screwed in my plate that goes around the gauges...and tested it again, nothing worked!

Then i tried my regular nitrous system ( the other buttons ) and nothing at all in my system was working, i replaced my main on and off switch for the whole system to see if that was it, nothing. I checked all my grounds and connections and everything is hooked up!

Any ideas? Im so ****ed off i feel like ripping the whole kit out, with all the wires and everything in the engine bay this could be a never solved problem

any ideas, even if there thrown out your @§§ would be great

ok i got the problem fixed i was talking to hall about my wiring system and i realized when i messed with the button i might have touched a negative and positive wire together and since my system is hooked up threw my cigar lighter i blew the fuse

Thanks Hal

I think it was a good idea i did hook up my system threw the power source of my cigar lighter cuz if it wasent i might have done damage to my actuly nitrous items?

I wouldn't recommend hooking up through the cigar lighter because some of the solenoids take up to 20 amps each and need to be hooked up to the battery for best results. Of course purge solenoid is less but still a lot of draw for a cigar lighter.

Its ok to hook it up direct at long as you use a fuse as you indicate. But be careful current through a cigar lighter is very minimal.

I have a 12v impact wrench that comes with a cigar ligher plug and I kept blowing fuses so I put a couple of clamps on it and now clamp it on to the battery, its unbelievable the amount of power it has now in comparison.

Not sure about more power, but it sure would open you solenoids faster.

I'm not sure what the gauge is of you cig lighter, but it's probably not close to 12 gauge. You should always use atleast 12 gauge wire when hooking up your solenoids...
