I was thinking about putting in a 50shot in my 2000 , since nothing needs to be changed in order to run it safely, anyway. I nkow taht the wet kits are safer but, I would like to s/c in about a year or so and am wondering what n2o set up would be best to use with a s/c later on. thanx peoples

I would run a wet kit, because with a dry kit your fp will go up even more and I dont think the stock injectors can handle it. Cmax with 11psi pully and 50 shot detonated and blew his engine because he didnt have enough fuel. So get a wet kit or bigger injectors and then go dry.

exactly. the dry kit alone is a nice set up but with the s/c it raises the fuel pressure and taxes the injectors. i ran 11lbs of boost with a 30 shot dry and it ran fine forever, but as soon as i went to a fifty shot i blew my seals. if i would have known i was gonna put a s/c i would have went wet. with the wet shot you dont have to upgrade your injectors or fuel pump because your getting the fuel you need from the wet set up.
im running 12.9-13.1 in the 1/4 with the current set up but the car is being converted to wet as i speak and seals and rings replaced.

what octane fuel were you running when you blew?

i was running amoco 93 with 104 octane boost. stupid me usually i run 100 race gas but i didnt that nite. but i think i blew because i ran to high of a dry shot and ran lean up top when the s/c reached its full potential of 11lbs. but if i was properly tuned it wouldnt have detonated
i took a chance and it cost me. then i found out today that the number 2 bottom piston was shatered around the edges causing a hairline crack in the block. so i picked up a engine for 500.00 and will do a rebuild for which will take about a week. im converting to a wet shot for starters then i will have it tuned then i should be fine. i got the engine with 43,000 miles and it has a nissan oil filter still on it. that tells me that it might be the true mileage and it was taken to nissan for maintenance
so that makes me happy.

If you are supercharged running 11psi how big of a wet shot can the engine take. Its obvious that the 30 shot is fine but is 50 still within safe limits?

His engine is built, only reason he blew was because he was running a dry kit at the time and maxed out his injectors.

yes im actually going with a 75 wet right now. like sonic dust said it was because i was running a dry shot which depends on the fuel injectors to deliver the right amount of fuel. you can go as high as 500 hp total with our cars i believe, but you have to prepare for it. and yes its definitley obvious that our cars can take 11lbs and a 30 shot with out proper tuning before they start to fail which is good to know.
