When I close the bottle, there is still going to be pressure in the lines and on the solenoid, should I just leave it or does it need to be released.
That is one good reason to have a purge valve to get rid of the pressure. I have always had one because my first kit was given to me by my Son and he had one and once you have one its like a lot of things you can't do without it.

You can always just crack the nut on the bottle line and bleed it off. If its like mine it won't hold 100% and will bleed down over a period of a few hours.

Yea, I just disconnected the line at the bottle to release the pressure, almost froze my finger off lol. I dont think I will have enough money for the purge valve so Ill just have to release the pressure manually. I will be ordering a bottle heater soon and I still need a bottle opener and gauges. I plan to get a/f, fuel pressure and nitrous pressure for inside. Is it a bad idea to go with mechanical because I just dont have the money to go with electrical .

I use a mechanical nitrous gauge in the front seat but fuel pressure is definately a no no.

What I used to do is run a fuel hose out through the hood and lay the gauge on the windshield so it was out of the cabin but I could still read it, ghetto but functional.

Ya watch the pinkees when releasing the n2o, just let it release very slowly.

I will keep the fuel pressure gauge outside, im going to get a 1 1/2" gauge off ebay. If stock WOT pressure is 43pis then it would be better to go with a 60psi gauge then 100psi?

depending on the shot size you're going for, your fuel pressure may actually go above 60psi...i would personally go for the 100psi gauge...

I use a 0-60 psi, in a wet system the fuel pressure will not go above the 43 unless you manually set it higher with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Dry system fuel pressure could even go above 100 depending on the shot.

Thanks Jime for the info. I got my fuel pressure gauge a little while ago and have it hooked up so its right at the corner of the hood. Here is a pic:
fuel pressure gauge
Does the fuel pressure go down to 0 psi after sitting for a while or does it hold the pressure? I was wondering because the car sat for about 12 hours while I was in school and when I came back it was at 0 psi. It was kind of cold out so maybe that was a factor in the pressure dropping. Is it suppose to loose pressure or do I have a leak?

Thats where I have mine, I know its ghetto but its cheap and it works. A mechanical gauge is also more accurate than an electric one.

Ya mine drops to 0 too after a while, its like the nitrous system, pretty hard to keep it 100% tight.

WOW , I finally sprayed the first time with a 35 shot and I almost **** my pants. I started spraying at 3.5-4k in 1st and all of second. Im just surprised at how much of a difference it was, 1st gear just didnt have traction and it did a nice peal into 2nd. Im on really crappy tires right now so some new tires should help with the traction. I ordered a NX bottle heater almost two week ago and I still did not get it yet. I just heated up the bottle with a hairdryer, that took forever. Everything seemed to work fine expect some fuel leaked when I sprayed. I just want to thank everyone who helped me out, especially jime.

@ the hairdryer :ghettofab:

Have fun man, and throw a 50-shot in. My 35 lasted all of 24-hours before I started craving more.

I finally got my NX bottle heater, so I will be rewiring all the switches up. Is it okay if I get all the power for the switches (activation/bottle opener/bottle heater switches) from the cigarette lighter or should I just wire it straight from the battery? Thanks.

If you are just powering the signal to the relays its ok but don't use it for the actual powering of the opener/heater etc.

I need a 4an line for an Autometer fuel psi gauge, the other one is busted. Would a 4an brake line be okay, is there any difference? I would think that they are the same, I just want to make sure.

I have had my nitrous kit all together and running perfectly, all I really need is and exhaust now and just clean up the switches. I had a question about how the NX remote bottle opener switch works. I wanted to change the switch and I have a momentary center-off auto flip switch which I want to use. Im not too sure how the motor on the bottle works so Im confused as how I should wire the switch. Do I just reverse the polarities on the motor to open and close it? Any help clearing this up would be great. Thanks!

This thread was extremly funny

I run my nitrous off the cigarette lighter. I used the original tee that came with the NX kit. It leaked at first but after I sealed it up it hasn't leaked at all. My bottle was dry after like 24 hours. It's still empty because i want to put the MSD on then put the 75 hp jets

if you are saving your money for a bottle heater, then save up for 860 Performance's pressure regulated heater.
