High RPM...

Anyone running a code P0507-"High RPM at Idle" after using nitrous for a couple times. I only ran a 35 wet shot when this happened and idle is at 900 compared to 600. Any leads or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh, I have a 2002 Maxima SE which has that drive by wire throttle.

Hmmmm...check to make sure none of your vacuum lines got pulled off/damaged during the install.

Thanks for the reply. Would a stuck PCV valve cause high RPM's. I tried listening for vacuum leaks but found nothing. Weird thing is that the light came on only after doing one hard pull with nitrous in third, parked the car, came back and found the light on. Car runs normal but the slightly high rpm is annoying me.

Is the light coming on after you clear the code and you're not spraying at all?

Yes, even under normal driving conditions it's still giving me the SES light. As a matter of fact it came later this afternoon. I was driving all morning fine with the light off but the RPM's were still out of range though at the time. So I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Any ideas? Anyone? Thanks.

I'm getting the same code (P0507), but I'm not using nitrous. I recently took off my Berk intake so I could clean my K&N filter and my throttle body. After I cleaned everything and put everything back together, I accidentally started the car without the MAF sensor hooked up. Of course, my car ran very roughly, and it wouldn't rev over 2500 RPM.

After I hooked the MAF sensor back up, the car seemed to rev like normal, but my idle was rough, and my SES light was on. I did the ECU reset procedure, and that made the SES light go away, but my idle was a bit high. After driving it around the block, I decided to do the accelerator pedal release position learning procedure, the throttle valve close position learning procedure, and the idle air volume learning procedure. After all of that, my idle went down to normal, and my car stopped feeling "wrong" when I drove it. It actually felt and sounded better than it ever has before.

Unfortunately, the more I drove, the higher my idle seemed to creep. The light has come back on twice, and I have reset it both times. I'm going to check to make sure I hooked everything up properly, and then I'm going to perform all of the reset procedures again. If that doesn't fix it and the light comes back on, I'm just going to let the light stay on for a couple of weeks to see if going through a complete drive cycle will give the ECU time to correct the problem by itself.

spiromax,
FYI, I ended bringing my car into the dealer for emmisions warranty work(80k mi.) to have the ECU replaced after trying almost everything on my own...good thing I did. Resetting the ECU will not work cuz after you turn the car off, the problem comes back meaning it's an electric related problem...most likely your ECU needs to be replaced. I'd return most of your stuff back to stock before bringing it in for warranty work. Good luck.

My problem ended up being a bad throttle body. They replaced it with a used part from another Maxima, and now my idle will set and stick at the right RPM.
