Nitrous and redlining. Couple questions.

I'm very green when it comes to nitrous so here's some questions that I couldn't find answers for. When using a wet kit, how do you prevent the fuel from being continually sprayed when you hit the rev limiter if your foot is still on the gas? The ECU only controls the injectors but the fuel system is still pressurized. And in general as related to nitrous use, what happens when you redline and the fuel cuts out? Is this an issue and will it cause damage?

Right now I'm looking into getting a basic wet kit such as NX. What kit# should I be looking at? And will I need anything else to improve the safety, such as an RPM window switch?

1. If i recall correctly, Fuel Cut under the spray=BOOM. the nitrous and fuel will still spray through the nozzle, but without the fuel from the injectors, the incredibly lean mixture will detonate immediatly and violently......so pop! I personally short shift because i have plenty extra tq/hp to overcome the shorter shift. You almost never want to prevent fuel from being sprayed through the nozzle with nitrous, extra fuel=rich and rich=safe.

2. I'm running the NX 20923, also check the top of the nitrous forum, it seems to have a link that still works as of a week or two ago for a "NOPI NX" kit.

Happy srpaying!

MSD sells a Window switch, but I didn't want to put chips in it. So I got the Digital window switch, you can put any rpm you want in it by pressing a button. I got mine from Jegs.

You shouldnt wait for your rev limiter to kick in to shift..... if thats what you're doing, you probably shouldnt be using nitrous in the first place. You shoulnd't be coming near it.....
If fuel cuts, you're screwed basically =) Like SeaFoam said, instantly super lean, cause all nitrous really does is allows more oxygen to be stuffed into your motor. So you have all this extra air, no fuel... boom. May end up looking like this

OK, so I got the same one. (Jegs shipped quick! ) Do you know if it's water proof? Can it be mounted in the engine bay or does it need to stay in the cabin?

I haven't intentionally waited until redline to shift. Didn't mean to impy that. But I have bounced off the riv limiter on a few occasions as I'm sure most manual drivers have. Unfortunately, the VQ30DE-K doesn't make peak power until redline. I'm just being cautious and asking questions before I do avoidable damage.

BTW, thanks all for the info. Now, where best to run the nitrous line? Option 1 would be in cabin and through the firewall. Option 2 would be through the floorpan in the trunk and under the car along the fuel lines.

Nitrous makes power where you want it to Just shift a little sooner so you're not worrying about it. I'm not totally sure if they complete cut fuel, but play it safe

I don't think it's waterproof. I'm going to mount mine in the cabin, that way i can adjust it anytime i want
