Couple of Qs before install....

I'll be installing my NX wet kit in the next few days, I just have a few questions/confirmations before I do it...

1. I am currently running my stock mid-section on my intake. Do I need to switch back to an aftermarket mid-pipe or just leave it? I'm afriad of puddling in the accordian section...

2. where to mount the digi window switch? in engine bay or in cabin?

3. I'm running a 190lph fuel pump, I know I'll run rich NA but I have a SAFCII to tune it. Would I see a drop or change in fuel pressure if I was to lean it out? Stock FP is 43psi?

4. I'm looking at this heater bracket from dynotune: heater bracket .
Anyone have this or a traditonal bottle heater is better?

Thank you.

1. I would switch back to the aftermarket mid-pipe. You have to have somewhere to install the nozzle and that accordian section is not where you want it.

2. I mounted mine in the cabin so it is easier to setup plus you can see the digital rpm readout but you could mount it under the hood, its not something you are always changing.

3. You will not see a drop in fuel pressure if you lean it out and you may not run rich, check the pressure, mine stayed at 43 WOT.

4. I have the NX heater but it was give to me so my choice was easy. That one looks interesting not sure on the price comparison.

Good luck
Jim

i wouldnt worry about puddling but finding a way to mount it could be a problem

i have dynotunes regular bottle heater which i got for about 1/3 of the price on ebay and its fine but that would be much more convienent and should work just as good

I have my Digital window switch in the engine bay. I see no reason to have it in the cabin since all you do is program it and leave it alone.

well i mounted the nozzle at the accordian section (second grove from the TB), no problems yet and no puddling. I also check my vi and no puddles there either but I'm only on a 35 shot.

I ended up purchasing that bracket heater, its cheaper or around the price of the NX heater depending on where you buy the NX from but quality is excellent and Dynotune shipped to my house in like 3 days. I am really happy with a 35 shot but I'm gonna bump it up soon to a 75 once I install my fuel pump and plugs.

One more question...
My buddy did my fuel tapping for me and he tapped the fuel tee inbetween the two fuel rails on the driver side. Not knowing that he tapped it there I went ahead a sprayed (luckily nothing happen). Now my worries is that since he tapped there, which is a 1/4' hose fit perfectly with the fuel tee, would I have less pressure going to one of my fuel rail (depending on the direction of flow) either the front fuel rail or back fuel rail causing a lean condition in those cyclinders or do I have enough pressure to compensate for that? I understand that you should insert the fuel tee between the fuel filter and fuel rail but I have a hard time finding a right size tee, the NX one still leaks with a high pressure hose clamp...

Thanx for all the answers.

wait you're using the NX fuel tee????

I had my nozzle in the accordian section, when I switched to a real intake my time dropped .4 That right there should tell you something.

I wouldn't mount it in the accordion section. If you could watch when it sprays you would see how much that rubber flexes with 1000 psi nitrous hitting it. Its not a very stable base for it.

alright switching to the mid pipe tomorrow...
After looking at where my buddy tap into the fuel line, it looks like it comes just before the front fuel rail and not connected to the rear one. I followed the fuel line from the fuel filter, from there it connects to hard line which then comes to this 1/4' line then to the front fuel rail so I think I am okay. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, as long as its somewhere between the filter and the connection to the front fuel rail you are exactly where you want it.

I mounted the digi switch in the engine compartment cuz it doesn't change once you set it (much). Pics at http://members.cardomain.com/v2powr

I had a bit of an issue programming the MSD. They recommended setting it at 1 (coil per cylinder) but it was functioning all wierd that way and not being true to actual rpm. I switched it to 6 (Typical 6 Distrib) and it works wonderfully.

Yes I know I need to get a new member name :P

The NX fuel tee = poo IMHO. I had a fuel pressure gauge already in place that had a heavy duty brass T fitting which was twice the diameter nearly. Just used one of the blue rail adapters, put FPSS on one side and FP sender on the the other, feed line right out the top.

I replaced the NX fuel tee with this. Plus it's an AN fitting so no leaks.

PLEASE don't use those clamps they can cut the rubber and possibly start a fire.

Use the one on the left in the picture instead. They have rounded edges and you cannot overtighten them. The are made for fuel line.

Well I replaced the hose clamps, it took so long cause it's very hard to take the fuel line off the fuel tee, but it will leak if the clamps are not on. I tried to drive it to the garage but that was impossible because it was leaking. With the old hose clamps it was ripped Jime. I had to put a new fuel line in between the fuel filter and the fuel tee because the old one was ripped from the old hose clamps. I hate working with fuel compontents. I loathe the day when I'll be putting the nismo fpr, fuel pressure gauge and the walbro pump, which is in about 3 months. I got everything but the fpr.

it maintain bottle pressure which essential to have nitrous working at its full potential.
