has anyone hardwired their fuel pumps?
i have heard of guys in 240's with the SR motors in them that hard wire their pumps so that they have enough voltage to pump the fuel that they need. i am doing this to my car, and i'm curious if anyone else has done it? if so could you let me know how you did it. thanks
The current requirements for a stock pump are probably less than the aftermarket one so it probably ends up reducing the voltage to the pump.
I don't know of anyone who has done that but sounds like it could be a good idea. I guess the first step should be measuring the voltage at the pump with it running to see if there really is any drop.

When the motor was started, the voltage going directly to the pump was 12.90-12.92 volts. Revving the engine didn't make a difference. I guess this is pretty close to the nominal 13.5 volts on the battery when the engine is running. It doesn't seem there is significant voltage drop at the pump, but those wires do seem small for the job.
