Fuel pump for NX wet kit

So I've been reading through a lot of the old posts and I couldn't find too much about people running the NX kit. Specifically I'm looking for input on whether I really need to upgrade my fuel pump to run a 75 shot. The only good thread I've found was Jime's from a few years ago which said I should be OK with stock pump up to a 75 shot. Has this opinion changed? Anybody experience problems running that set-up? I'm now at a 50 shot with stock pump and doing fine but tempted to go higher.

well it might be ok to run it off the stock pump, i would recommend to atleast uping it to the walbro 190 or do like i did and overkill it with 255. i run nitrous express on my car and i took all of the precautions that i could to make sure it would run correctly. so you probably could run it on the stock pump, but just to make sure i would say upgrade the pump to a higher flowing one, i wouldn't want my motor to blow up because of something like not getting enough fuel. i think that with running nitrous always take the safe route.

To re-quote Jimi:

"1. If you get a 190 lph it will be more than enough to handle anything you can throw at it up to about 200 HP or so. With the 255 you will definately need an aftermarket FPR, with the 190 you may or may not. Best to install the 190, check the fuel pressure and then if the fuel pressure is too high get the fpr. Stock fuel pressure is 34 at idle and 43 at WOT. These pressures should be the same regardless of whether you are on nitrous or not. If its a bit higher its ok the computer will adjust.

..

Best place I have found for the pump is http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/
GSS-250 $80 bare pump or it lists it for the DSM as FPD-004 $88 which comes with a filter etc that you can't use. Don't get the high pressure pump because you aren't boosting the pressure like the dry kits, it all runs at stock pressure.

If you do need an FPR they sell those also, I have the universal UREG model they sell. $110.

I installed the GSS317 Walbro from the weblink and a AEO regulator. Normal pump operation, adjustable cutoff for maximum fuel pressure for up to a 125-shot dual-stage NX system. A good combo.

walbro 190 is your best bet because you dont need to adj the fuel pressure, the 255 is a high low pump requiring a aftermarket fpr. you can get them for about 90 bucks shipped, at this number 321 722 0498
