Largest Safetest Boost Amount for 3.0

Hey, I got a question, I have 3.0 with WAI, 2 1/2" y-pipe, 3" custom piping (no resonator no b-pipe), and Apexi WS Turbo Exhast. 3" 1/2 in 4 1/2" out

What is the largest ammount of nirtrous i could run safely without any problems.

Since I got my exhaust system i havent decided to turbo or nitrous.

Nitrous is Safe when you have the right setup. Its the drivers that make it Unsafe... You can Run up to 125 shot im sure. But you have to make sure your car is built to hold that much boost, by having fuel pump, fpr, gauges and bottle heater... but start of with a small amount and build ur way up to the top, but make sure you do it right. So read more Nitrous Threads and Learn..

So this is what I need, 2 steps colder plugs, WOT switch, bottle heater, purge, and guages (pod) and Apexi VAFCII, and fuel pump.

what kinda number hp and quarter mile times have you guys run? what you guys thinks better, nitrous or turbo? i nitrous costs less.

if you're seriously considering any form of boost, whether it be nitrous or turbo, the best thing you could do right now is donate and serach. there are lots of guys who've gone through all the hastles involved with figuring out all kinds of nitrous and turbo/sc setups on maximas.

Those things that you listed as needing are a good start. IMHO a gauge pod is ricerific, especially with nitrous you might need what - a nitrous pressure gauge, and maybe EGT if you wanted it. Don't waste your money on an Autometer A/F gauge or anything like that - get a wideband if you ever wanted to tune with either a SAFCII or Emanage system.

As far as how much power people are making and their times, check the Dyno's, Timeslips, and 1/4 & 1/8 mile drags section.

It is true that nitrous costs less initially, and probably in the long-haul too considering all the upkeep that a aftermarket turbo car usually costs, but it really depends on what your goals are with your car. I went with nitrous because I didn't have the money to build a turbo setup at the time, and I wanted to hit the track but still be able to keep my car as a daily driver. Nitrous allows the best of both worlds in that scenario, as long as you tune properly so that you don't blow your daily driver up! However, there are a lot of guys now who run their turbo/sc max's on the streets all the time, so its just up to you. What are your goals, how much money are you willing to invest, and how much time and work really? Good luck!

pretty much got everything there...id say replace the fuel filter while you're at it...

look in the dyno section for hp/tq #'s...
with a 75 shot expect to run low 14's, high 13's depending on your driving

if you're looking for more power whenever you drive, go with turbo; if you race on the weekends, just go with the nitrous

I duno, I always considered it like this, sorta...

"Boost" is a term for F/I ... One type of F/I is Nitrous ... Ergo Nitrous is a type of "Boost"

Its kinda true if you think about it long enough, late at night lol.

I run a 125 shot, I use:
NX wet kit
NGK BKR7E-11 plugs
Walbro 190 FP
AEM FPR w/ FP gauge
860 billet performance bottle heater
Have but didn't use but is recommended, MSD window switch

anything higher i would need higher octane gas... my buddy has sprayed 175 before, just spun tires like crazy...

I have the pillar pod with an in cabin nitrous pressure, air/fue (doesn't do shi* but annoy me) and a volt meter... All of which are useless to me. SAFC2 i need...
Also, make sure your spraying into some sort of mid-pipe, I have the frankencar one, works great.

I don't have any track times, but i can surprise quite a few people, and hang with a MEVI'd turbo'd maxima at 7PSI for a bit... (nitrous top end + USIM's top end SUCK!)

Na, boost is when you take a massive amount of air and cram it into 20psi,
force it into the cyls. .

Nitrous is sucked in (not forced) and explodes with oxigend when it gets
hot enough.

like i said i dont have anytimes, but i pull pretty hard on a 03 6spd with hotshots, cattman catback, injen intake... I am dead even with a cobra mustang with headers and all bolt ons, and i hung with the new silver evo until 4th gear, also a modded T/A WS6 didn't pull on me to bad, i wasted the chevy cobalt, pulled slightly on a S2000 stock with 3 people including myself, what can i say, i love my nitrous.

not to mention that i have 157,000 miles on my motor as well..

Pretty serious amount of spray - do you see any damage to your plugs? Do you spray that 125-shot at launch, or after you are rolling? What kind of wheels and tires do you roll on? Does your buddy spray with a Maxima?

Excuse the questions, but I spray 50-shot + 75-shot, and any clues on how to keep the engine alive would be welcome.....
