i was installing my nitrous kit tonight, and at 8:30pm we got to the part where you tap the fuel line and i put the fuel T in and tightened one side, move to the next and it slips out of my hand and we cant find the bracket to tighten the other side . Now i am very mad becuase i cant drive to school tomorrow and my car is not working as of now since all the stores were closed...

Not to mention installing nitrous takes longer than they say it does... F*CK MURPHYS LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have felt your pain many times before and still don't see how cars manage to eat parts, especially when you don't have a spare or substitution on hand!!! Murphy's law is a biatch.

 

So your saying you lost the clamp to tighten the "T" into the fuel line?... Quick temp fix would be a zip tie, just to get you to the parts store. Happy spraying.

 

i tried the zip tie idea but it didnt hold the T in well enough, so ill have to borrow my dads car to go to the hardware store. but hopefully the rest of the install goes well...

ya i was installing a strut bar awhile back and i dropped a bolt for the bar. It fell out 3 weeks later.

 

I have lost plenty of screws, bolts, tools, in my engine bay lol. What pisses me off the most is after you have been looking for a few hours, you give up and then you try closing the hood and notice the hood dosnt close, then you notice that the gad damn part u were looking for all day is sitting right by the windshield wipers stopping the hood from closing.






the fuel to me was the hardest part of my nitrous install. I had to build my own T fitting. If its an NX kit your installing. DO NOT install the T fitting that was supplied. Its way too small and you cannot trust it. make your own, if u havnt done so already.

 

that usually happens to me also, I lose a bolt/nut and cant find it for the longest, when I'm ready to give up and move on, or go inside and leave it alone. I find it.

watch, after you buy the replacement part, you'll be working on the car and see the original part laying there in plain sight.

Neither of those things happened to me, i still haven't found it...

The fuel T worked fine for me and the replacement clamp works like a charm, im not running more than a 50 shot so i dont think it will be a huge issue of fuel flow...


But i did learn a lesson, ALWAYS TIGHTEN PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS WITH A WRENCH!!! I got a good nitrous burn to prove this... and gas in my engine bay... HEHE now i know
