Since you need to keep the nozzle aligned toward the TB, the adapter is there to provide support for the threads of the nozzle, even if the intake tube is thin metal. If your intake system had thick walls, I guess you could drill and tap the intake and screw the nozzle into the wall. You could possibly drill a hole into a thin intake tube and place two nuts on the nozzle, above and below the tube.

Do you have something sneaky in mind?

nothing sneaky lol. I drilled and tapped my intake pipe and the nozzle fits tight. I was just wondering it its a better idea to use the Nozzle fitting adapter like a safety precaution.

grey99max can you send me some pictures of what rims you use and what tires you use at the track

It is a better idea to get the adapter. Eventually your intake pipe thread is going to wear out and its not going to catch thread no more when you put in the nozzle. Its still going to serve the same function, but i really recommend you get the adapter make life easier.

The adapter is a plus, not completely necessary but a little safer than just tapping the intake tube imo
