VW Super '71 $7k OBO ($3k worth of mods)

This vehicle is a '71 Super Bug, a true sleeper. Runs 11.5's now since it has been detuned. This car is a great car to take to the track or to ride around watching the expression on Vette, Stang, 350Z or G35 owners at stop lights. Here is a list of some of the work done to the car or work waiting to be done. Parts not installed will be included with the sell of the vehicle. With that said here we go:

Merged racing headers. Step type starting at 1 3/4" at head and 1 7/8" at muffler. $275.00 with an additional $80.00 for having it ceramic coated. These were custom made and information on them can be found on the aircooled site. The are the best headers available for a VW engine.

Stainless steel 2 1/2" Penn Kafer Cup model A-1 phat boy muffler. This muffler is stainless inside and outside and the tip turns a yellowish orange when it heats up. More information can be found about this muffler on the aircooled site as well. This was custom made and cost $369.

The carb kit was purchased from CB Performance in California. It is the Weber IDF 44 Pro Comp kit and includes teh taper flow high rise manifold which is 40% taller than any other Weber manifold made for a VW. I also had IDF jet doctors installed in each carb. This kit was $809.00

I had Ric Campbell of Big Rig Race cars custom fabricate the aluminum firewall and door sills. These were $300. Not yet installed

The trans was custom built to freeway flyer specs out in California. This cost $400.

I purchased a Kafer Cup Brace from aircooled as well. This is for cornering as well as rear end stabization, $300 Not yet installed

The aluminum T-bars were custom made to match the pattern of the firewall, $200. I also had aluminum dash ***** made at $80.

The engine is a 2180cc high perormance stroker engine. I have not had it dyno tuned so I am not sure of the horsepower. I will try and get more specifics on the engine.

The wheels are EMPI interceptors, 8 spoke, and are very rare. Tires are brand new as are brakes.

The interior is sprayed in Marhyde and I have 80ml soundproofing yet to install.

I have new carpet for interior, not yet installed. It also has the custom seats.
