My 6speed tranny acting up
Yeah, thats a rough job to do on the ground.
I don't know about a break in period. I swapped in a used one. Did you swap the clutch while you were in there? If you added a performance clutch you may have to adjust it at the pedal to fully disengage.

When I changed the engine I pulled the engine and tranny out together. I am almost willing to say it is easier to replace the tranny by pulling it all out together.
all gears feel fine now except for 5th. Its fine but Its little rough going in. This is how the other gears felt. Hope it will clear up with lubeeee.
Dont know if its the new suspension replacements or the new not used lsd but the traction is really really nice.
for reference dunno if its been posted before but, the 6th gen pass side axle bracket is diff, making the 6th gen pass axle diff as well. The 3 bolt holes that mate the axle to the bracket dont match up. But the bracket does bolt to the block the same way.

Nice work! I'm going to get mine rebuilt in a few weeks. A trans shop right here on the corner did a 5.5 gen before and they know exactly what the problem is. He said Nissan has a synchro kit to repair the problem. He said the other guy it was about $900 to repair and they put new bearings on too. Not bad.

Thanks.
Was that price including remove and replace the tranny? Drop the car off and pick it up?
lsd ftmw. old one had it and new one does also.
I dont mind the lower gas millage for faster acell. 2005 tranny ftw.
I know hlsd is supposed to be much better. Does hlsd need to overhauled with use?

I followed your advice on leaving the crossmember on and just unbolting it from the frame. I dont see why you would want to do it any other way. Doing it this way allows you to support it with a jack without the risk of damage.
One thing I would do diff is unbolt the downpipe from the car under the car. With my catmans on the engine was limited on how low it wanted to go. either way a jack and 4 of us was able to get it in at the worlds funkiest angle. I have no idea how anyone would do this alone without a hoist.

That sucks. I did a honda clutch in the snow and got crazy sick. How you pulled that off I dont know.
I still got a clunk noise over bumps. Gotta check everything out when I get time. Not looking forward to getting under the car again.
The final drive ratio is noticeable under acceleration. The only place mileage is an issue is on the highway. Around town I just shift into a higher gear.
I know your car already had HLSD but it's the best option available on these cars. I swapped an oped diff tranny for my newer HLSD and the difference was amazing. I really can't believe they put an open diff in these cars after driving both in the same car. I think the option was only like $300 when the car was new.
You just replaced basically all the front suspension didn't you? Check the upper strut mounts mine just started making noise.
That is correct besides struts springs and strut mounts. I suspect the dss driver side axle not being a perfect fit and this leading to the axle moving in and out of the tranny slightly because I can do this by hand. I will be checking that out. Thanks for the suggestion on the strut mounts.
