2016 Maximas on the Streets?
My wife and I were coming home from dropping a truckload of stuff at GoodWil Saturday, when my wife, who was driving, said 'Isn't that a new Maxima?' I quickly looked up and there was a very shiny new brilliant silver 2016 Maxima parked all alone in a corner space at the furthest end of the parking lot from the salon occupying that end of the shopping area. I had my wife drive around to see the model designation, but the only think on the upper right end of the trunk was a 'Gwinnette Nissan' sticker. There are around a dozen Nissan dealerships closer to where I live here in middle Georgia than Gwinnette Nissan (north of Atlanta),so that was sort of a surprise. But the lack of an S or SV or SL or SE or Platinum on the back puzzled me. Either someone removed the letters or the 'S' comes with no letter.
Thanks, Mason. That makes 'shaving' the rear a little easier. One thing that is worth noting about the Maxima is that, except for the SR with larger wheels and tires, and upper models with panoramic roofs, all models of the 2016 Maxima look pretty much the same when viewed on the street. That 'S' I saw was very clean, shiny and sharp.
Had mine for over two months and I hadn't seen any around here on the road till about a week & half ago. Since then i've seen three, a Bordeaux Black, Pearl White & another Super Black one. NIce to see one here or there.....but still nice to know we aren't saturated here yet.

Just this weekend I saw 2 pearl white. One parked on the street was an SR and the other was a platinum pulled up just behind me on the next lane coming to a stop. She didn't seem to want to make eye contact until she turned into a different street. Didn't seem an enthusiast.
Saw a Black S Model on the road yesterday. Some consternation though as I realized it was a rental car (tell tale bar code stickers in the rear windows and front driver windshield). Anyone else seen them as RACs? Hertz? Avis?
I posted about that earlier in the thread, most all the ones that I have seen here in the LA area have been rentals. I have had several as rentals for work when I had to travel in recent months with Hertz and Enterprise.
Beautiful white 2016 SL or Platinum (had double panel roof) pulling out of IHOP onto Jeff Davis Ave in Fayetteville GA Monday afternoon. Gleamed in the sinking sun. Either new or just washed. My wife had to alert me that the Platinum I was driving was approaching the curb while I was gawking at that Maxima.
I am glad there are beginning to be 2016 Maximas on the streets around here. It took long enough.

LOTH I have seen more maximas move off inventory and on the road than I did the first 8-9 months or whatever its been. Saw a white SL today- the headlights def should have been HID- thats my only knock on the SL. it looks great but the headlights don't look as high end as the car. However, I will likely save the 3-4k or whatever it is and go with the SL, pearl white with charcoal.
Forgot to post that I saw a shiny black 2016 Platinum parked in the lot in front of J.C. Penneys at Fayette Pavillion here in middle Georgia Sunday. My wife and I circled several times to get a good look. This was the first black 2016 I have seen that was not still sitting on the dealer's lot.
I have been convinced from day one that, like the 7th generation, this car will sell slowly until dealers begin giving real markdowns, then, as more folks see them on the street, sales will pick up and this 8th gen will sell. I can't count the times I have seen folks slow down and even stop to gawk at my silver 2016 almost anywhere I park it.

saw a white SL again today- they should have done LEDs or HID headlights, you can actually tell the difference- they look cheap on what is an expensive car. No excuse for Nissan not doing HIDs in ALL Maximas. save the halogens for the altima.
Saw another white 2016 Maxima parked in front of Folks Restaurant in Tucker GA at 2PM Friday afternoon. I was in heavy traffic and not in position to see which model. I am seeing a lot more 2016 Maximas than I was seeing last fall. The tide is turning.
At 4PM Friday April 15, my wife and I saw a black 2016 Maxima southbound on GA 85 at the entrance to Fayette Pavilion. The black color really stood out in the afternoon sun. We couldn't see the back to get the model, but it was the first time I had seen the alternate 18" wheels on the street. By comparison with surrounding traffic (most folks around here drive either crossovers, SUVs, pickups, Lexuses or Jeeps), that Maxima looked low and sleek, and caught our attention immediately.
The discounts are getting pretty steep in some areas- thats helping. my local dealer is finally showing 3k off most of them...was MSRP or close for almost the entire year. They went down $1000 a few months ago that was it.
I've had my Max since July and have still only seen 12 total and all have been in cities. None where I live (very rural part of the state). I get asked about mine locally all the time. I'm kind of glad that none have popped up near me.
Finally my first sighting after three months as an owner!
Was driving near the arena in Wilkes Barre, PA where I spotted a nice but "strange" looking Nissan - there are a lot of Altimas and Versas around. Took me a second to realize I was seeing the back of a white 8th gen.
Not sure what model though - the roof was black which I found a bit strange, not sure if that's a feature of the moonroofs
