IVT Torque / Horsepower

Can anybody tell me how much Torque & Hosepower the IVT system makes on a bone stock VQ engine? I realize that the numbers will be different depending on conditions. Looking for maybe an average and a peak value.

Or put another way - what would torque and horsepower be without it?

Garbage under 4.5k, then it quickly picks up and you'll have full power way up top. You would hate the car knowing the difference. It does not increase peak power. b/c intake cam timing goes to zero. If you had big *** cams, then you could keep it advanced and make more power.

Darren dyno'd his 5.7 swap with IVT off, so that will give you an idea of the kind of losses than can occur.

When cruising (at speed - low load) I typically see around 36-38 degrees ignition timing on the scanner which is why I ask.

Having some problems - trying to figure out what's wrong.

It's supposed to be stupid high under low load. Mine is in the 40s (b/c reflash).

What would that stupid high # be? You say you're in the 40's. Is that low?

I meant compared to WOT, it's high, as you can see. Your ign timing is normal under low load.

If you're missing power and there's no codes and you've determined it's not the maf/KS...better be looking at the precats.

Ok - got it on the timing. Thanks for that. Process of elimination.

My Story:
'05 engine swapped into '03 Maxima
Timing gear & Clutch done (significant)
Engine is smooth and quiet but way down on hp/torque
Feels like a Prius towing a trailer (stole this quote )
Crank sensor code p0335 (may as well not even be there)
Crank sensor problem solved - 2 connectors mixed up. Car now has Crank signal.
Now have Code p0011 & p0021
General: Camshaft Timing Over-Advanced
Nissan specific : IVT Control
Cam sensors - good, IVT actuators - good, harness problems - untested

I am highly suspicious of the flywheel being indexed wrong during the install.

Car feels like it's missing about 100 Hp. Can't see non-functional IVT bleeding off that much power. Hell - the cam gears could be timed wrong but I'm not ready to go there yet.

When I had No working Crank sensor (code p0335), my ignition timing was anywhere from 45-60 degrees. ECU getting signal off cam sensors I assume.

Can you clarify what you did to the flywheel and timing ring? If the timing ring is off, then it absolutely would confuse the ECU and think timing is messed up. Also, the KS is different on the 6th gen, so you must use the 02-03.

I can clarify only that I had nothing to do with it. Unfortunately it wasn't me that did the work. But he's so sure he got it right.

This is my suspicion based on the way the car is acting. Yes, I have the '03 KS and CPS installed. You can just feel if this thing was dialed in right it would boogie. It's like it was castrated.

It was fighting to climb a long 1km (1/2 mile) hill on the way home after I picked the car up. Put it on cruise and by the time I got to the top of the hill I had lost 15 km/h.

Freaked me out - My old rattlecan motor with screaming timing chains would still pull pretty hard to redline and climb that hill in 6th gear all day long (pinging and burning oil all the way of course).
