Rear Strut Bolt Came Out Stripped and Then Got Stuck

My lower rear strut bolt when going to put coilovers on came out 80% of the way, completely stripped! There's almost no threads on it. Now it's stuck and just spins in place, how am i gonna get this out and do any stores carry these?

Are you talking about the bolt that holds the bottom of the strut attached to the trailing arm? Just cut the nut off and buy a new bolt.

Part # 55080-2L71A at the dealer, $2.58. (this is for a 98 or 99. 95 - 97 has a different #)

I did this earlier today, hopefully gets here monday or tuesday. Good thing I tried the other side, same exact result the threads were non existent as soon as i could see them so i just stopped there and ordered 2 new bolts, still have to get the original stripped ones out like i said the first one just started spinning in place

also, seems like nissan redesigned the bolts they sell now, which i'm glad to hear. This car is from southern cali, i live in ohio and my first maxima was rusted underneath to the point it scared me i'm surprised my struts didn't just slip off with the quality of these bolts

I just bought a set of nuts and bolts for the 98 and 99 model to use when I replace torsion link bushings.

Would you post a picture of the old bolt?

The new bolts look different from what I remember about the old bolts. I could be wrong though.

looks about the same to me

I just removed that, and the whole car dropped a bit and scared the **** out of me i wasn't thinking of the rear suspension bar being supported by the struts, where is the best spot to jack for rear strut removal?

I place jackstands under the LCAs in front and between the rocker panels and trailing arms in the rear. For cushioning I place squared 4x4s on top of the stands. Same spots as Ben's Jack Points in this diagram

Some members replace the rear shocks 1 at a time for safety precations. With the rear beam bolted onto the chassis with the trailing arms and lateral link I remove both at once.
