Some 4th gen owners still say the 4th gen is faster than our 5th gens? Are they just in deniel or something?! I don't get it?! It's been proving over and over again...that the 5th gen wins hands down!

Why don't you post this in the 4th gen forum, Russ?

I agree the 5th gens are SLIGHTLY faster. I've been to the track with a few of them and they have a slightly higher trap speed in the 1/4, due to the breathing characteristics of the engine. Looking at the dyno's of both cars you can see why the 5th gen is stronger at that speed/RPM.I'm talking 5sp vs 5sp. I don't know how the auto's stack up. My best 1/8 time is 9.53 @74.99 and I haven't compared that to what the new one's are running.
I've also heard the 95/96's run a little stronger than the 97-99.
We are going back to the track this weekend for some more fun.

The Altima will soon be spanking all of us, or you can just TRY and find a running Thunderbird SC and you'll be on top!!

IMHO the 4th gen autos are faster. Most 5th gen's run 16 flat, stock. I've seen a lot of 4th gen autos run 15.7's stock. The 5th gen sticks seem to be faster. Look at Larry... 14.38 in the 1/4! With only Y Pipe and CAI.

So your 15.7 is slow? That is why we ran at MAXUS, my semi modded 5th gen against a heavy modded 4th gen, autos both, we both took off the line even and the 5th gen just pulled instatly away by 3rd gear I was 1 1/2 cars in front. There were people taking pics Justin MC was one...

Actually I got as low as 15.4. Lately I cannot break out of 9's. Mostly because I'm stock. When I run with the DC guys, they all run in the 15's, but all of them have at least an intake of some sort. One difference though... they do not shift their cars, while I do. You cannot break a 16 in a 5th gen without shifting it manually. The shift point is below the damn peak HP, unlike the 4th gens. Anyway... I'm partly wrong. I'm losing to 4th gens who have intakes against my stock 5th gen. Only by a tenth or two, but that's still a loss.
