5speed vs. turbo

for the last couple months ago i have had my heart set on converting my 97' SE auto, (PR cai, vbmod, b-pipe, ypipe,) to a 5speed. i had planned on doing this after it stopped snowing here in IL. now i am considering a turbo project, now that a turbo is being offered for 4grand and free install!! i have the money for the swap now, so do i do the 5speed swap and enjoy a mid-low 14 sec car, or save for another 8 months or so, and just do a turbo on my auto max and enjoy a low 13 second car??? any feed back would be apreciated

thanks don

Having just done the transmission swap a couple of weeks ago, I'd say do the swap, then save up for the turbo. The manual transmission makes the car so much more fun to drive, even if it isn't as fast as a turbo'ed car. Speed isn't everything.

having done both, i'd say .. do both

if not, it depends on what you want.

turbo will make your car ridiculously fast , and fun to drive..

5spd conversion will make your car a little bit faster, and very fun to drive.

Tranny swap then boost. Other wise you might have to change the piping around later on anyhow and can save a few headaches this way.
