Supercharger deepens exhaust note?

I hear a little while back that once I get the supercharger on, it'll deepen my exhaust tone. The person didn't say how, just that it did. Is there any truth to this?

I don't really think so, Craig.
With my stock muffler it was still quiet at that end. Most of the noise comes from the intake. When I swapped out my stock muffler for the Vibrant Universal I got a throaty exhaust tone but you can probably get that on a NA Maxima.

Actually that is pretty much what I want for Christmas. I know I won't get it though. Anything less then 3 liters SUCKS! If they make bottles of soda bigger then your car's engine, you know you have a problem.

The perfect engine: Nissan 5.7L Pushrod VQ V-8.

Anything less than 3 liters huh Craig? Well Toyota and Nissan did pretty well with a certain 2.6 liter that I know of.

I thought mine made the exhaust sound a little deeper at low RPM. Still sounds "ricey" as you'd put it at 2-3k. It'll result like your exhaust did. Nice at first, annoying after a few weeks.

Hmm...Well I have a glasspack resonator now so all is well. While Jeffrey hates glasspacks, mine will last a good 2-4 years. And that's fine by me.

Is there any logical explination as to why the S/C deepens the exhaust note? I know it makes a whining ZZZZZZZ when accelerating with the PSHHH in between shifts with the BOV. But I have no idea why it should make the exhaust deeper?

Well you have to keep in mind that the stock muffler will quiet down any type of exhaust setup we have significantly. So if the blower did increase deepness some, I bet the muffler would easily filter it out.

As for the intake...does a custom cai on the s/c sound like a PR CAI? I like the way mine sounds...but the ECU has adjusted now and it's gotten too quiet.

Sorry those pics offended you. But they are 100% true. Not saying that about all imports, but most especially honda's. I went to the track for the first time last week (not racing) and my Maxima could beat at least 85% of the imports there. The only respectable ones was a turbo'ed 240sx and a supra turbo. A few others were in the 15's but everything else was mostly 16-17. Domestics have their rice too...there was a 2002 Dodge Neon with rims, fart can, lightning, ect. that ran a 22 in the quarter. It was like watching grass grow.

Anyways, can someone please post some serious input about my original question?

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I was searching for information on 3" exhaust with a supercharger and found this....I found it too funny not to

Craig...do you realize what the actual displacement of your engine is? To the cc? Do you realize how many cc's make up 3 liters?

Does your engine suck? Do you have a problem?
